Introduction of Nepal Samajik Anusandhan Samuha(NESAS):
1.1 Introduction:
Nepal Samajik Anusandhan Samuha (NESAS) is a local non-governmental, non-political, non-profitable social development organization which was formerly registered in district administration office (D.A.O) Kathmandu in 2055 in the name of Nepal Samajik Anusandhan SAmuha (NESAS). In the initial stage of its establishment, the organization had aimed to work in the field of different social issues and environmental sanitation as a focal intervention. But later on, seeing the present context and necessity to be involved and focused in diversified sector of development, Nepal samajik Anusandhan samuha (Nesas) has planned to work in rural sector. NESAS has started launching community-managed projects since 2067 and its executive body & general body comprises of well-experienced people dedicated in the field of community development work. Since NESAS is an organization of people worked as a staff of different NGOs and INGOs such as Nepal Red Cross Society, The Asia foundation,(NTTP), it brings together services of highly qualified and experienced professionals to implement sustainable community development with marginalized and disadvantaged groups. It was set up to foster sustainable community development through people’s participation and organization. NESAS envisions the balanced and empowered Rural Community &awareness on different social issues (problems)

The mission of NESAS is to empower the people by awareness programme improving the socio-economic condition that promote and sustain the quality of life of the backward and disadvantaged child, woman and the community for their overall benefits through better management of available indigenous as well as natural resources.

To conduct suitable program that can keep the environment cleaned and improved for the future of the backward child, woman and their community. To conduct awareness program for the re-habilitation of woman as wells as child and marginalized as well as backward group. To co-operate and maintain co-ordination towards the social work conducted through the Governmental & Non-governmental organization. To cooperate for the conduction of society construction as well as other social work through the cooperation from National as well as International, Governmental & Non-governmental authority. To conduct different income generating, employment creation activities for the
upliftment of lifestyle of disadvantageous group. To conduct environmental conservation program through the conservation and preservation of forest resources, watershed area, historical tourism sights. To conduct literacy program such as non-formal education, adult literacy etc. To conduct program for the elimination of all kind of social discrimination conflict management.

To mobilize maximum local resources (such as Human resources, skills, technologies, materials etc.) and people participation for the project maintenance & sustainability. To improve and sustainable people’s livelihood through the management and mobilization of indigenous as well as local resources. To conduct campaigns to raise maximum awareness programme. To encourage local women to participate in-group formation process. Maximum participation of child, women and all concerned stakeholders will be maintained in all the stages of the Project Cycle. To integrate hygiene and sanitation with other programs. To increase the community contribution in construction works for their ownership, proper operation and maintenance in optimum level as possible. To focus on equitable activities.

NESAS is managed under the policy guideline of an Executive Committee. It consists of seven members and meets once every month. Board members of NESAS possess a multi-disciplinary background in Rural Development, gender, Rural Tourism researcher, social science, environment,Sociologist,Anthropologist and development. It has own constitution, personal policy, financial policy as well as rule and regulation that guide all the members and staffs for its daily working. 1.10 Working Approach:
The role of NESAS is to act as a facilitator. Participation of the target people in all stage of program/Project (Planning/designing, Implementation, supervision /monitoring & Evaluation) is anticipated through user group/committee/cooperatives in various activities that make the beneficiaries feeling of ownership towards the program. As all the programs are facilitated through the group approach, group members are trained in such a way that they could be capable to sustain their activities over time.

1.10 Working Approach:
The role of NESAS is to act as a facilitator. Participation of the target people in all stage of program/Project (Planning/designing, Implementation, supervision /monitoring & Evaluation) is anticipated through user group/committee/cooperatives in various activities that make the beneficiaries feeling of ownership towards the program. As all the programs are facilitated through the group approach, group members are trained in such a way that they could be capable to sustain their activities over time.
1.11 Experiences of the NGO:
Since, NESAS has been established with prime thrust to work as a development support agency in the field of implementing community based programs/projects through participatory and sustainable development interventions. NESAS has started launching community development program and awareness activities since 2066 .
1.12 Linkage and coordination:NESAS has obtained a close support through its establishment of good linkage and coordination with district level NGOs, INGOs, Mass Media and line agencies.
