Day 2 : 25/09/2024

• The Phakding to Namche Bazaar trek is a moderate 10-12 km uphill hike taking 5-7 hours.( we took a "little longer" than that 🤐)

• It involves crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, gaining 830 meters in elevation to reach Namche Bazaar at 3,440 meters.Altitude sickness starting to kick in)

• Trekkers pass through villages and forests, with potential views of Everest and Lhotse.But was rainy and overcast mostly our day.

• Namche Bazaar serves as an important acclimatization point.

Today marks the 1st anniversary of us reaching the Everest Basecamp last year !! Here are some of the first glimses in to the beggining of the treck!! Keep an eye out for the rest of the videos in this series ❤

Ama Dablam peak, also called the “Matterhorn of the Himalayas,” is one of Nepal’s most iconic peaks, reaching 6812m in the Khumbu region. The name Ama Dablam means “Mother’s Necklace,” inspired by the glacier on its southwest side that resembles a mother’s outstretched arms and a traditional Sherpa pendant, or “dablam”, worn for protection. This beautiful peak has made it one of our favourite.

On our way back to Lukla, a mysterious mountain suddenly appeared in the sky, majestic and fleeting. Within seconds, it vanished as quickly as it had come. Even our guide, with all his knowledge, quietly said, “No one knows the name of that mountain.” It felt like we had witnessed a secret of the Himalayas, known only to the skies.

We made it to the Everest Basecamp on the 2nd of October @4.45 PM. With so many stories to be told , for now we'll share some of the photos of the day with you all!! !

We were supposed to have two flags for Sri Lanka and Australia , instead we had two Sri Lankan flags ( bit of a stuff up there 😀 ).

Anyways, infront of those magestic giants of mountains, our identities , nationalities , races , religions meant nothing afterall. Felt the immensed power of pure mother nature ❤🙏🫶
