Why Is a Cover Block Important?
Protection from corrosion- Steel reinforcement is susceptible to rust if exposed to moisture and air. Cement cover blocks ensure that the steel remains fully embedded in concrete, preventing contact with air and water.
Thermal insulation-Cover blocks provide some level of thermal protection, shielding the reinforcement from extreme temperature changes, especially during fires.
