I did not know Courtney would ever try heroin. It pretty much shook my world when I got a knock on my door saying my daughter had died from a HEROIN overdose. What, I said, not my daughter, she doesn't do HEROIN. And it killed her pretty much immediately. She was home for Christmas and happy, and she was gone in March. I don't know how or why she decided to try heroin, all I know is she was with h
er boyfriend and they both overdosed, she unfortunately died, he didn't, although he committed suicide 3 months later due to Courtney's death. I think the guilt of living killed him, little did I know he was involved with heroin. But he also paid the ultimate price and was just a kid, such a tragedy for all. I'm sure his family was devastated. Courtney was a college student in Colorado at the time of her death, but needless to say heroin doesn't discriminate. If it happened to her...it can happen to anyone. She was the type of person who loved life and lived every minute of it as if it were her last. Everyone who met Courtney loved her, she was kind and loved everyone, never a bad word came out of her mouth about anyone no matter what their circumstance. She was beautiful inside and out. She grew up in a middle class family, she was a National Figure skater. She graduated from high school and had many friends. She went off to college after graduating. Just the normal path that kids follow. She had gone to college for 3 years at the time of her death. I hope to educate the public by starting this page and to hopefully save a life. If one life is helped by this page then it is all worth it. Familes need to be aware that it can happen to anyone, any race, any income, anywhere. Heroin is talking to your kids, we need to talk louder!! We need stop the spread of heroin "For the Love of Courtney"!
