Did you know Kiwis send around 180,000 tonnes of clothing and textiles to landfill every year? 😱 As part of our commitment to sustainability, we recently held our very first Treasure Trade Day – led by our amazing resident Eco Group!
The idea was simple: bring along good-quality clothing you no longer need, and swap it for something new-to-you. 🛍️✨ The turnout was fantastic, with residents leaving with some fabulous wardrobe finds!
💚 A big thank you to the Eco Group, our resident volunteers, and everyone who came along. It was great to see so many unwanted items given a second life, rather than heading to landfill.
👕 Any leftover clothing was donated to our local Salvation Army Family Store.
We’re already looking forward to the next one – stay tuned! 💫
