I’ve stopped asking “why me?” and letting the past weigh me down.
It’s a hard thing to trust that everything happens for a reason and that if things don’t work out, I’ll understand eventually.
Yeah, I’ve had some tough times that really hurt and I’ve been at rock bottom more times than I can count..
But those experiences don’t determine who I am- I do.
Choosing not to stay down, to get back up and keep moving forward has made me better, not bitter.
Because I’ve also had great days, big accomplishments and huge happiness.
I’ve learned is life is a balance of the good and bad, it’s up to me to find my joy in the bad days and to relish the good times.
Life will never be perfect, it will never go just as planned and there will always be those days I just don’t want to get out of bed.
But I control my own destiny and I make my own choices..
And I choose happiness.
I choose to make the best out of the bad stuff and soak in the beauty of the good moments.
I choose to learn from my mistakes, embrace my flaws and keep loving myself more every day.
I am a beautiful mosaic of all of my failures and victories, and I’ve learned to use my pain as fuel and motivation every day to evolve.
I may never be famous or rich, but I’ll be happy..
And that’s what matters most.
That I faced life head on and kept pushing forward, kept rising again and found my wings to fly higher every day..
That when it’s all said and done, I’ll look back and treasure the little things, know that I followed my heart,
And that no matter what,
I was truly happy.
