So proud of my colleague Kris at Exercise as Medicine New Zealand -- what an awesome recognition of your years of service to the fitness industry and to your commitment to not only providing an exercise opportunity for people who most need support to participate, but to your commitment to upskilling other trainers to do the same. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and experience and for continuing to lead from the front, shining your light so brightly that the rest of us have a path to follow. This recognition is so well deserved -- and is an important recognition and a validation of the importance of specialist exercise providers everywhere! Congratulations Kris!

We are delighted to announce that Kristine Ellen Tynan has been made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to people living with long-term health conditions and older adults, in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2024.

SHAME!! Even in times of fiscal restraint there are services that must be protected. Wheelchairs are not luxury items and prescription, provision, and service of wheelchairs are necessities. People are already waiting too long - often in pain, and to the detriment of their health, independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Where is the line in the sand on what services and budgets we will tolerate being slashed??

Disabled people could face longer wait times for wheelchairs as the disability ministry battles increasing cost pressures.

Crazy times call for crazy decisions and actions. After months of lockdowns and madness, we have an amazing new project that we want to tell you about. We have combined forces with some absolute fitness industry legends and have taken ownership and re-opened a boutique small group fitness and personal training studio in Hobsonville which we have named Unruly Company.

We are offering a wide range of classes appropriate for people of all ages and shapes. We have a very skilled and specialized team of trainers running these classes and offering personal training.
I will be moving the bulk of my services including most of my Counterpunch Parkinson's and ProstFIT classes in house and will be operating primarily from there. I will be taking advantage of not having to travel to expand what I am offering to include classes for people with MS, stroke, breast cancer, and more.

Please spread the word - and even if you aren't local please like our Unruly page and look for us on Insta so you can see what we get up to!!

We are a small group training facility providing fitness classes for for Unruly folk in Hobsonville

High intensity interval training yielded decreased prostate-specific antigen levels and velocity, as well as lowering prostate cell growth in men with localized prostate cancer.

Inequities in prostate cancer testing allow too many men to die, amid renewed call for a national screening programme.

"Each year, about 3500 Kiwi men are told they have prostate cancer. Instead, we'd like thousands more to be told they don't," says Peter Dickens, CEO, Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ.

The current system - where men have to request the blood test through their GP, or wait to be offered it, isn't working.
