Kia Ora and warm Pacific greetings,
Ko Awatea Scholarship is now open for application to our Health Could B 4 U, Health Science Academy and Kia Ora Hauora students. Scholarship application closes on Sunday 28th of June 2015.
This Scholarship awards successful applicants with $5,000 to cover tuition fees. This is covering for the duration of 12 months (which includes 2 semesters). The awards are paid in line with programme milestones and at the successful completion of each semester. As awards are paid at the end of each semester, recipients are responsible for paying tertiary fees at the beginning of the course. Reimbursements will be made after successful completion of each semester and providing scholarship requirements are met.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a Ko Awatea Scholarship, all applicants must:
• Be a New Zealand resident or permanent resident
• Live in the Counties Manukau District including Papakura and Franklin
• Health Could B 4 U, Health Science Academy or Kia Ora Hauora student
• Study a degree course supported by the Ko Awatea Scholarship programme
• Not granted another scholarship
The following degree courses will be supported by the scholarship programme:
• Bachelor of Science (Human Nutrition), University of Auckland and Massey University
• Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy), AUT
• Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy), AUT
• Bachelor of Pharmacy, University of Auckland
• Bachelor of Nursing, MIT
• Bachelor of Nursing Pacific, MIT
• Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), University of Auckland
• Bachelor of Health Science (Midwifery), AUT
• Bachelor of Speech Language Therapy, University of Auckland and Massey University
• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, University of Auckland
• Doctorate of Clinical Psychology, University of Auckland
• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, AUT and Massey University
Important Notes
Applicants must provide the following completed documentation listed below:
• Complete application from
• Proof of enrolment or tuition fees payment statement for semester 2 2015
• Proof of Studylink loan statement for semester 2, 2015
• Character reference form sent to referee
Shortlisted candidates will attend a presentation interview which will take place on the week of Thursday 9th July to Friday 17th July 2015. Candidates will be notified with the presentation topic on Tuesday 30th of June 2015.
