This weekend, we witnessed something really special at Atafa o le Moana Retreat 2026 🌊

Across three days, Pasifika youth showed up fully - curious, honest, tired, hopeful and left more connected, grounded, and confident in the change they want to create. What stood out most wasn’t just the learning, but the authentic connections formed through shared space, talanoa, laughter, and care.

✨ What we’re carrying forward:
• Multidimensional thinking is ancestral — our young people already know how to navigate complexity because it’s in their blood through our ancestors
• Connection is medicine — aiga, trust, and shared experience are foundational to wellbeing and leadership
• Systems change is legacy — change takes time, intention, and collective effort, and our youth are ready to carry it forward and act as future ancestors

Seeing our young leaders move from uncertainty to clarity, from stress to confidence, reminded us why creating intentional spaces like this matters.

Atafa o le Moana wasn’t about having all the answers — it was about giving our youth the tools, relationships, and grounding to keep going and creating opportunities for change ☁️

We’re deeply excited for what lies ahead for this group and grateful to everyone who helped hold this space with so much care!

Each item donated was received with genuine excitement and appreciation - as a reminder that our young people are seen, valued, and backed by their wider community! 💙

gifted beautiful stencil packs that our rangatahi are already planning to use in their own youth-led workshops; tools for creativity, facilitation, and self-expression.

went above and beyond with a range of items, including MCoBeauty, LEGO, and snacks, bringing joy, comfort, and moments of lightness throughout the weekend.

offered a powerful book that deeply resonated with our young people, reminding them that not every burden is theirs to carry.

and supported the creative planning process with resources that helped ideas flow and projects take shape!

contributed snacks that became part of our talent show prizes — adding fun, laughter, and celebration.

shared the Samoan Seasonal Calendar, which our rangatahi loved for its grounding in Indigenous knowledge and its connection to the cultural reclamation many of them are leading.

Oils provided wellness support that our youth truly needed — moments of calm for tired, stressed, and overextended young leaders.

of Hope donated journals that became sacred spaces where our rangatahi mapped out their world-changing ideas.

2025 was a full on year! It asked a lot of us — and together, we answered with courage, care, and collective action. So blessed! 🌟

This year we launched new kaupapa, deepened relationships across our communities, and created spaces where Pacific youth, creatives, and leaders could stand firmly in who they are.

Every programme, talanoa, and gathering was shaped by trust, culture, and the belief that our people already hold the solutions.

We are deeply grateful to the funders, rangatahi, partners, mentors, and whānau who walked alongside us and carried this work forward.
