BLOG; DID YOU KNOW?
Are you stuck in the endless cycle of light weights and high repetitions, wondering why your recovery feels like it's crawling along? It's time to flip the script on traditional rehab thinking. The latest research is revealing a game-changing truth: heavier loads with fewer reps can accelerate your recovery and strength by up to 61% compared to the classic "3 sets of 10" approach.

Did you know? Up to 30% of men who visit their GP suffer from some form of pelvic floor dysfunction, yet 2 out of 3 men don't discuss these symptoms due to embarrassment or lack of awareness that effective treatment is available.

Our Senior Pelvic Health Physio, Julie Blades, is passionate about helping men, and the good news is we have a real-time ultrasound to make it easy to teach men how to use their pelvic floors.

Whether it's incontinence, pain, erectile dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, or post-prostatectomy recovery, she is here to help.

Our Story

At Auckland Physiotherapy, we work in collaboration with you to get you back doing what you love better than ever. With Master’s Physios, senior Physios, massage therapists, coaches and instructors, the team can provide multiple tiers of treatment, ensuring you get the right person. Treatment is completely personalised and moves you as quickly as possible from pain to recovery, recovery to strength, and strength to wellness.

Auckland Physiotherapy has a holistic approach which sees our Physiotherapists complemented by the Health Collective, which offers massage therapy, Pilates, nutrition, yoga, mindfulness and personal training. We use The Collective Method which is a collaborative three-step process which helps you understand your injury and rehab journey, and ensure you achieve your goals. The idea is that our clients can not only regain their health, but get even better than they were pre-injury.

We are wanting to change the face of healthcare in New Zealand and have the overarching goal of making better lives possible by helping people live well and move well. Join our community and attend our weekly classes, monthly seminars, workshops and read our monthly blogs including inspirational healthy recipes.
