**NOMINATIONS for Taumafaiga Achievement Award 2024 now open**

Here’s our recipient for 2023 award - ULULAU AMA

Ululau was born in 1994 at Moto’otua Hospital in Apia, Sāmoa. He had meningitis at 3 months old and was later diagnosed with epilepsy. Ululau has attended Art Therapy classes and is currently an artist at Māpura Arts Studios in Auckland, Aotearoa. Ululau’s work includes drawing, printmaking, poetry, music, painting and sculpture.

He is a visual storyteller, with his Pacific identity weaving through all his art, and many of his works are based on Samoan mythology. He tells stories of Sāmoa through his work.

Ululau was the Taumafaiga Achievement Award 2023 recipient at the Stars of the Moana Event: Celebrating the Collective Success Award

A truly independent ‘grass roots ’collective of Pacific disabled people, their families and carer’s has been established. The Collective have adopted the Enabling Good Lives key principles to underpin their collective approach to all areas that impact their daily lives.
