It is almost the end of February and we have had a superb start to 2025 - we hit the ground running!
With 12 new roles being filled (one to go), we have now secured nine delivery crews across our civil services, with the capacity to go to twelve crews. This includes our leaders-in-training which was a necessary addition to our business structure and a chance to up-skill our staff that are ready to step up.
At Dreadnøught Civil, we are expanding and very excited for our future - our purpose is to enhance the mana of people and the places.
Things are ramping up, and we see it in the industry around us - with this, remember to take extra time to prioritise safety checks and details on site. We all work hard, and it pays to take a minute to stop, and take a breath, to check your hazards before moving forward.
A friendly reminder from your team at Dreadnøught - be safe out there!

Dreadnøught Civil started out as a family business, and is growing as a medium-to-large-sized, diversified company that serves customers across the upper North Island.

One of the directors, Sam Pomare, has worked in the industry most of his career, with whakapapa to Panguru and many tupuna working for the power board in Auckland. A tradition his mom has authored a book, based on her doctoral thesis.

By the 1960’s, there was a general understanding that if you were male and came from Panguru, you would work on the board and you would work to maintain the good name of your whānau.

While the industry and people have changed in those nearly 70-years, and time continues to re-shape the way we do things now, we at Dreadnøught continue our ambition to be at the forefront of change.
To continue leading strongly in this space, our team is growing, and we are on the look out for equally ambitious people to join us in a range of roles.
We have had a strong and positive response to date, and we anticipate to close applications early, later this week.
Be apart of our mana boosting culture and have a place to belong - apply today!

So, we are showing appreciation to those who we work closely with, to our community, and to our loved ones who have all supported us through what have been some epic highs and challenging lows throughout the year.

The ringing travels all the way to the yard, opposite our head office.
The iconic bell, sitting at the top of the staircase, welcomes our people before they head to their desks for mahi. A reminder when walking in the door that success is celebrated in our workplace.
Our crew of 50 has had a big year—our Kaupapa demands it and our focus on quality, safety, and partnerships have been a huge part of our growth.
With kaimahi, team leaders, delivery leaders, senior leaders, directors, and office staff – the bell rings weekly.
When we are awarded a job here at Dreadnought Civil, it is proudly shared with the team. After learning the news, the bell is rung, to celebrate the success of our dedication. Securing work for our civil, hydro, and traffic crews and maintaining our brand in an ever-evolving industry is always worth celebrating. It is a testament to who we are and what we do.
The ringing stays in your ears for a while, with a smile plastered on your face. The vibe has now heightened, and the culture lifts to one of connection and shared achievement. A small and significant tradition, this gives a huge mana boost to our people. This is who we are.
Do you have a workplace tradition? If you do, we would love to know!

That’s a wrap! Our Boots and Balls Charity Event for 2024 was a hit.

Despite the weather, the turnout was fantastic. With the Warriors players coming in for a meet and greet and Nick Hana giving us a jaw dropping trick-shot exhibition, our players made the most of the occasion.

We are proud to say collectively we managed to fundraise more than $22,000 on our big day - this is a huge success and we thank everyone who contributed throughout.

These funds will go towards helping those impacted by su***de and mental health within the construction industry, and connecting communities - causes we feel very passionate about.
Being in the industry ourselves, we know this will make a difference with the Warriors Community Foundation and Mates in Construction.

This all happened with the help of players, sponsors, staff, and volunteers - thank you all so very much.

Watch this space for what’s coming next year!
