I’m Nicky, a Certified Primal Health Coach, and I’m here to help you become the healthiest and happiest version of yourself - whether this means loosing weight, getting rid of those constant cramps or fixing your everyday fatigue. I used to lack energy, get cramps and a constant sore tummy and overall just didn’t feel great a lot of the time. I even use to worry about going out in case this got out of control. But after dealing with this for long enough, I decided to find out what was going on and why, and this is where my health journey really started. Fast forward to now and I’ve never felt so good. My passion is to help you go from where you are now, to feeling the best you’ve ever felt with everyday endless energy so you can make the most of your life and spend time doing the things you love. Through simple and attainable changes in nutrition, lifestyle, exercise and sleep, I am confident I can improve your quality of life. What are antioxidants and why you NEED them in your diet 👇🏻

Let’s start with free radicals. Free radicals are molecules in the body and are something we all have. They’re a natural part of living, but an excess of them can lead to cell damage, ageing, inflammation and disease development.

Antioxidants, which you can get through your diet, fight free radicals by neutralising their harmful effects on the body. Simply put they promote overall health, help reduce the risk of diseases, support a healthy ageing process and help fight inflammation.

They can be found in lots of different types of food, but here are a few examples 🫐 🍫 🥬

Have you ever found yourself exercising for endless hours every day but not seeing the results you want or experiencing very short-term results that don’t last? This might be why - the primal lifestyle key concept #7.

While an active lifestyle offers immense health benefits, exercise alone is not an effective strategy for weight management—although it would be great if it were 😉. This concept also touches on “compensation,” suggesting that when we work out a lot, our bodies might respond by making us hungrier and causing us to eat more -sound a little familiar?

Exercise can help you lose weight, but keeping it off involves more than just burning calories; it requires a combination of a healthy diet, mindful movement, and a sustainable approach to fitness 🥦 🏃‍♀️

I don’t blame you for believing that staples like pasta, rice and bread are healthy - many of us grew up with this notion. But the truth is, these processed, sugary and gluten-filled foods could be the root cause of the many challenges people are facing today: bloating, cramps, weight gain, low energy, brain fog and more 🙅🏼‍♀️

Here's the good news: adopting a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean saying goodbye to the joy of your meals. There are plenty of substitutes for these foods that not only let you savor your meals but also bring benefits like increased energy and reduced bloating, leaving you feeling better in your own skin.

A spice you should be using in your cooking or have as a tea? Turmeric 🤗

Despite its vibrant yellow colour, it’s actually quite a mild spice. And not only does turmeric add its own unique taste to a meal, it’s also:

〰️ An anti-inflammatory - appearing to be effective against arthritis.
〰️ A powerful antioxidant which combats free radicals in the body (aka ageingn culprits).
〰️ Aids in digestive support.

Baking healthy cookies with my client Paul 🍪

Paul and I worked together to help him go from pre diabetic with an inflamed, fatty liver to non prediabetic with a healthy liver in just 4 weeks. It’s truely amazing how fast you can transform your life in such a short amount of time with the right lifestyle changes and of course the right guidance.

Ingredients and instructions 👇🏻
〰️ 1 cup almond flour
〰️ 1 cup tahini
〰️ 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
〰️ 1 egg
〰️ 1 tsp baking soda
〰️ 1 heaping cup of chocolate chips
〰️ Iodised sea salt for topping

Mix together the almond flour, tahini, maple syrup and chocolate chips. The dough should be thick, if not add a little bit more almond flour. Mix, then place bowl in fridge for 30 mins (important step). While waiting preheat oven to 180 degrees. Once 30 mins is up, take bowl out and add egg and baking soda. Mix until fully incorporated then scoop onto trays and cook for 10-12 minutes. We want them to be slightly undercooked. Then once cooled down a bit, sprinkle with salt and enjoy👌🏻
