“I cannot believe how much this Tens machine helped me through my labour, honestly I rented it thinking I might not even use it but let’s just get and have it incase. Wow was I wrong, I popped this on nice and early at home when contractors started and this machine alone got me to 10cm dilated at home! I’ve been telling all my pregnant friends that this is a MUST! Such a great website and easy to rent, highly recommend.”

How to actually use your TENS machine Part 2

The TENS Boost Button = Your Secret Weapon in Labour

Did you know your TENS machine has a boost button designed specifically for contractions?

When a contraction starts, press the boost button and the intensity increases - giving you extra support right when you need it most. Once the contraction fades, it returns to the lower setting so you can rest between waves.

✨ My top TENS tips:

🚗 Use it in the car on the way to hospital
That car ride can feel intense during labour. A TENS machine can help take the edge off contractions while you’re travelling.

🤍 Don’t pack it away straight after birth
TENS can also help with afterbirth pains, especially when your uterus is contracting back down in the hours or days after birth.

It’s small, portable, drug-free, and can make a huge difference during labour.

Have you added a TENS machine to your birth plan yet?

How to use your TENS machine properly ✨ Part 1

Follow for Part 2 ✔️

Getting the pad placement right makes a huge difference to how effective your TENS machine is during labour.

For the best results:

• Place two pads on either side of your spine just below your bra line
• Place two pads on either side of your spine just above your undie line

This placement targets the nerves that carry labour pain signals from the uterus to the brain, helping the TENS machine interrupt those signals and provide relief.

Many mums describe it as a strong, buzzing massage for your back during contractions.

💡 Pro tip:
Start using your TENS early in labour so your body has time to build up endorphins and maximise the pain-relieving effect.

Save this post so you know exactly where to place your pads when labour begins 🤍

Water has been used in birth for generations - not because it’s trendy, but because it works with the body, not against it 🌊

Birth is hormonal.
It responds to safety.
It responds to warmth.
It responds to feeling undisturbed.

When you step into warm water during labour, your body can soften. Your shoulders drop. Your breathing slows. And often - your contractions become more manageable.

It’s not about eliminating sensation.
It’s about creating an environment where you can cope.

Whether you’re planning a home birth or exploring your options, remember - your birth space matters more than you think.

You deserve to feel calm, supported and in control 🤍

If you’re considering a water birth, chat with your midwife and start thinking about how you want your space to feel.

Our oyster white birth pools are launching in a few weeks, we are so excited to present this option for our mamas!

Preparing for labour can be SO overwhelming!

The concept of birth is very pain focused and not in a good way! Birth is not a medical event, it is natural and our bodies were designed to do it!

Taking it back to the basics and understanding how fear and tension affect your body during labour is the first place to start.

Next I focussed on building my labour tool kit with items that were going to assist my body not hinder it.

Our labour tools are carefully curated and support your body when it needs it the most. We have limited availability for TENS for the coming months and have a new labour tool launching in the next few weeks 🤫 so stay tuned!

A reminder for first time mums 💌

YES you are allowed to change your mind in labour! If you find that something isn’t working the way you thought, you’re allowed to change it up!

When you’re in labour it’s important you focus on being in labour, by having a full tool kit it allows you to change techniques without interrupting your flow! Or stressing because you don’t have any other options.

Our TENS hires are carefully curated to take the stress out of pain relief. Arriving early and giving you time postpartum. They are the perfect tool to have in your labour kit.

We have limited availability for March, check our website for dates, we open bookings 3 months out 💌

We have quite a few new followers so I thought it was time to re-introduce myself!

My name is Holly, I am a mum of two and the owner of Glowing Birth.

I am currently on maternity leave, my son is currently 3 months old! I am so happy I now have lots of time to pour into this venture!

I have had two very different birthing experiences. My first birth left me traumatised and gave me motivation to do it different the second time!

I learnt about natural pain relief tools and went into it with a completely different attitude, I worked with and trusted my body. The birth of my son, was everything I hoped for and more!

I KNOW how important birth tools are for a natural labour, and I LOVE being able to help other mums achieve their calm, confident dream births.

So thank you for being here 🫶🏼
