More than 150 million children worldwide are engaged in child labor. In the least developed countries, nearly one in four children (ages 5-14) are engaged in labor that is considered detrimental to their health and development. Child Labor Free is a global certification system independently inspecting and analysing companies and their supply chains for the use of child labor across all product cat
egories. Child Labor Free came to life when we were made aware of something that hit at the heart of our commercial operation:
“The toys we sourced for our early childhood centres, could in fact have been made by children”. With a lifetime of experience as childcare educators, this conflicted with our vision of a world for children to be free to be children. Out of the commercial need to stand behind our products central to producing positive outcomes for the children in our care, we set about researching and engaging a wide range of industry experts to develop a solution. Two years on and we have gone on to create a global certification and marketing system that could demonstrate our commitment to ensuring our products were Child Labor Free and easily convey that to our consumers.
