From a stroke to a shooting line

In September 2025, Jo had a stroke. She survived but the damage was in her visual cortex she came out the other side with cortical blindness. Her eyes work. Her brain can't read what they send it.

Big news! 🎯

Last year a stroke took her sight. This year she's aiming arrows at a target she can't see and somehow hitting them better than most of us hit the things we CAN see. The goal? Representing New Zealand at the World Championships and bringing home gold.

No pressure, Jo. 😄

Good morning to all our awesome clients and customers, Jo here with a brief update. My vision is minimal but I’m focusing on getting better as fast as possible to enable my return to the business that has become my life and soul. My apologies for what has been a period of disruption from normal services but I hope and I’m confident that you will be receiving excellent care from Melissa and Sarah during this period.

As many of you know, Jo is the heart of JSRM. Recently, she underwent major brain surgery. We’re deeply grateful to share that she is comfortable and stable as she focuses on her recovery.

During this time, our priority is Jo’s health and wellbeing. While we do our best to keep JSRM running, there may be some changes and delays as we balance caring for Jo with supporting our clients.

We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and kindness. Your continued support means more than words can say as we navigate this challenging chapter together.
