Did you know the very first “transfer”💥 in labour usually isn’t an emergency dash to the hospital?
It’s the gentle shift from your safe little bubble at home 🏡 into the birthing unit or hospital.
For some, this means they’d rather stay at home because if they need to transfer, they only want to do it once.
Tips for You and your Support Crew 👇👇
⚡️⚡️How can you make this transition from home easier on you?
1️⃣Keep using your TENS machine, acupressure balls 🐡, comb, etc.
2️⃣Pop some headphones 🎧 and keep listening to your playlists, affirmations or have them playing in the car.
3️⃣Put an eye mask 🚦 on to reduce the brightness of traffic lights, streetlights.
4️⃣Throw a dressing gown (or similar) that is easy to move in, and get on and off.
5️⃣Adjust the seating, throw a blanket in, and have a pillow to make it more comfortable to rest between surges.
⚡️⚡️Tips for the Support Person
1️⃣Drive calmly and quietly.
2️⃣Offer words of comfort ♥️ and positive talk.
3️⃣Turn notifications off & your phone on silent.
4️⃣Pop a full drink bottle 🧉 in a cup holder for Mum to grab when she’s able.
