Don’t worry if you come to my sessions and can’t switch off. Being still is a practice. As humans, we’re conditioned to constantly do, to keep going, and we’re surrounded by everyday distractions. Pausing can even be seen as laziness, and many of us carry guilt around simply being still.
But when you come to a sound session, the only thing that truly matters is being present, feeling connected to yourself. You showed up, and that’s the beginning. You’re honouring yourself and making time for your own wellbeing, and that is brilliant.
Even if your mind is busy, you’re still receiving the healing frequencies from the moment I begin playing the bowls. These vibrations flow deep into your 70 trillion cells and the waters within your body, supporting harmony so your mind, body, and spirit can return to a beautiful, coherent state. You will notice shifts afterwards, sometimes immediately, sometimes over the next couple of days. Clarity arrives, you become less reactive, you sleep more deeply, and stuck energy gently releases as the sound transmutes what no longer serves you.
I used to be the person who could never sit still. I was proud of being an “active relaxer,” always moving, thinking, doing. I was diagnosed with ADHD later in life, I know Im wired a little differently, fearless, full of energy, constantly buzzing like an “ants-in-your-pants” kind of girl. I probably annoyed the hell out of friends and family who thought I was nuts! Until I found sound.
Sound allowed me to drop into a deep state of awareness, where I could simply be and be still. The crystal bowls quietened my mind in a way nothing else could. I couldn’t think about my to-do list over the harmonies around me, the sound anchored me into the present moment. Looking back, my nervous system was exhausted, constantly firing, and it had a huge impact on my adrenals. Living on autopilot and holding that “sleep when you’re dead” mindset was not healthy.
Now, I live from a place of awareness. I pause before I react or speak, (most of the time). I do less, and self-care is my number one priority. I crave sound sessions, I love the way they drop me into that peaceful, deeply restorative space. I love feeling the frequencies flow through my body. The only thing I don’t love is that the sessions feel like they last only 15 minutes! I do get why so many clients become addicted to sound sessions, we need feel peace, peace is our birthright!!
