One thing I’ve learned after years in the direct sales industry…

Never put all your eggs in one basket. 🥚🥚🥚
The ChCh earthquakes, the Hanmer/Kaikoura earthquake and covid lock downs are just 3 major senerios of situations that bought my businesses at the time, almost to a grinding halt.

The MLM, NM and direct sales industry has brought me so many amazing opportunities over the years…
👉Friendships.
👉Personal growth.
👉Extra income.
👉Confidence.
👉And experiences I’ll always be grateful for.

But over the last few years especially, we’ve seen dramatic changes in the direct sales industry.

🤔Companies changing their structure overnight.
🤔Comp plans shifting.
🤔And some network marketing businesses shutting down completely with little or no warning.

It’s a reminder that relying on just ONE income source can be risky.

That’s why these days I stay open to different opportunities instead of depending on one thing alone. And that is why these days, I have many income streams.

Not from desperation…
From wisdom. From past experiences I don't wish to repeat again.

And like me, many women over 50 aren’t looking to hustle harder anymore.

They’re looking for more freedom, more security, and income that fits their life. ✨

Had to share this with you - all my friends 50+.
This is such great advice.

20 Rules for Your Best "Golden Years"
🔹 01 – Stay out of your children's business. Give them the space to live their own lives.

🔹 02 – Don't micromanage your grandkids' upbringing. You're the grandparent, not the parent. Your role is to love, not to dictate.

🔹 03 – Embrace your in-laws. Whether you love them or just tolerate them, remember: your child chose them. Respect that choice.

🔹 04 – Stay neutral. Never pick sides or weigh in on their marital issues. Discretion is your best friend.

🔹 05 – Don't be the "bitter elder." Constant complaining and self-pity are the quickest ways to end up alone.

🔹 06 – Retire the phrase "In my day..." or "Back then..." Your time isn't in the past—your time is right now.

🔹 07 – Keep planning for the future. Having something to look forward to keeps you young.

🔹 08 – Stop talking about your ailments. Harsh truth: nobody wants to hear a play-by-play of your doctor's visits.

🔹 09 – Save something every month. No matter your income, always tuck a little away for your own peace of mind.

🔹 10 – Stay debt-free. Avoid credit cards and financing. If you can't pay cash, you don't need it. Your sunset years shouldn't be lived on borrowed time or money.

🔹 11 – Prioritize your health coverage. Ensure you have solid insurance or a dedicated "rainy day" fund for medical needs.

🔹 12 – Don't leave a "mess" for your kids. Organize your estate, your documents, and your affairs now. It’s the final gift of love you can give them.

🔹 13 – Turn off the news. Watch TV and read for fun. Don't stress over politics or global crises you can't control. Protect your peace.

🔹 14 – Get a furry companion. If you love animals, a pet can provide the best company and a reason to get up every morning.

🔹 15 – Stay busy! Find a hobby that consumes your mind, not your worries. Walk, bike, garden, cook, or read. Don't just sit around waiting for the end—live until the very last second.

🔹 16 – Take pride in your appearance. Being "old" is okay; being "neglected" is not. Ditch the worn-out rags. When you look good, you feel good, and the world treats you with more respect.

🔹 17 – Keep learning. It’s never too late for a new language, a tech skill, or exploring AI. Staying curious keeps your brain sharp.

🔹 18 – Gratitude is everything. Be thankful for the chance to age—it’s a privilege denied to many.

🔹 19 – Keep your sense of humor. Laugh, joke, and stay lighthearted. A smile brightens everyone’s day. Don't let yourself become a cranky curmudgeon.

🔹 20 – THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE: CHOOSE HAPPINESS! 😊

Not sure at what age you become 'the elderly' but I think the government calls it, when you turn 65.

I'm not sure whether I agree with that, as I certainly wouldn't call myself 'elderly' even if my grandchildren think differently. 🤣

Are you heading into retirement in the next 5-10yrs - or maybe you're already there.

We spend decades surrounded by coworkers, clients, and everyday conversations… and then one day, retirement arrives and that built-in social network is just… gone.

Even if you’ve never thought of yourself as particularly social, that loss of regular interaction can sneak up on you.

I’ve come to realize that loneliness and isolation are very real risks in retirement. And over time, they don’t just affect how we feel—they can impact our overall health too.

The good news is, it’s something we can prepare for.

Here are a few things that can help stay connected:

1️⃣ Stay involved in your community
Whether it’s a gym, a walking group, or a local club—book club, seniors group, church group—just being around people regularly makes a difference.

2️⃣ Volunteer your time
Giving back keeps you engaged and adds a real sense of purpose. It could be helping at a food bank, supporting a neighbour, or spending time at an animal shelter—whatever feels meaningful to you.

3️⃣ Consider part-time work or a small side hustle
Not just for the extra income, but for the interaction. Even a few hours a week can go a long way. Tutoring, consulting, retail, or even something online can keep you connected.

4️⃣ Be intentional about social time
It doesn’t just happen anymore—you have to plan it. A weekly coffee, a game night, time with family, or even regular video calls all help fill that gap.

5️⃣ Keep learning and trying new things
Taking a class—online or in person—not only builds new skills but also introduces you to new people. Stepping outside your comfort zone is good for the brain and the spirit.

Retirement is a big change, and staying connected doesn’t happen by accident—but with a little intention, it absolutely can.

OUR MONEY💰
We've known for a long time that everything will be going digital.
And we've been hearing that even our banking system will change to digital.
Thankfully the Reserve bank is saying we will still have physical cash (can you imagine a society without cash - I hope that never happens) we are already seeing major changes in the way banks and the public, are investing.

AI has come into play and now, we the public are stepping into a new method of investing - something the banks are not liking one bit. It exposes how much money the banks are really making.

Three months ago, I decided to try out a new AI Investment strategy and to say that I'm thrilled with the daily compounding interest with an monthly average of 16%, would be an understatement.
A portion of my profits gets reinvested back each day and the rest gets moved onto a visa card to help with my weekly groceries/ fuel.

What about you?
Are you a tea or coffee drinker first thing in the morning?

Imagine reaching retirement… and still getting paid each morning.

Not because you’re working harder.
Not because you’re chasing more.
But because you chose to build something along the way that continues in retirement.

Most people are told to save a little each week and hope it’s enough one day.

But what if that’s not the full picture?
What if, alongside saving, you could quietly build income that keeps showing up… even when you’re not working.

Something that grows over time.
Something that supports you later.
Something that doesn’t rely on you constantly showing up.

Because the truth is…
If your income stops the moment you do, retirement can feel uncertain.

And for many women, that’s the part no one talks about.

So maybe it’s not about working more.
Maybe it’s about building an income differently.
Creating something now that continues to pay you later.

If you’re open to seeing what that could look like, message me “READY”

I’m happy to share what I’ve found and how it’s helping me think differently about retirement.
❤️ Sue

Who remembers these eggs as a child?
I'm not sure, but I don't think we had chocolate eggs back 65yrs ago - or did we? If we did, maybe our family didn't.

What type of eggs did you have as a child back 50 - 70 yrs ago ?
