Life is like a fart… if you have to force it… it’s probably going to be 💩

That was the quote we used to kick off Saturday’s workshop: “Moving Forward Without Forcing Yourself.”

A little cheeky while hopefully it made a powerful point 👇

Our hopes for everyone who came along:
✨ To notice that sensations in the body are neutral (and can even be pleasurable)

✨ To realise you can make the unfamiliar, especially the things you want, feel familiar by using your imagination

✨ To experience more moments of feeling alive, powerful, and relaxed

A big thank you to everyone who joined us 🙌

We loved your openness, your insights, and your company.

There’s something special about reconnecting with those who already know this work and equally special meeting new faces stepping into it for the first time 💛

Here's a few photos of the event.

Ever done something and immediately thought... why do I keep doing that? 😄

Actually, your mind is working perfectly.

It's simply doing what minds do - keeping you in familiar territory, even when you're ready for something new.

We're running a free workshop this month exploring exactly this.

Moving Forward Without Forcing Yourself

📅 Saturday 18th April
⏰ 9:30am – 12pm
📍 Breakfree on Cashel, Christchurch
💛 Free - morning tea included

We'll look at why change can feel uncomfortable even when we want it, and how to work with your mind so that new ways of being starts to feel natural - not forced.

Simple, practical, and a wonderful morning out.

Grab your free spot via the link below - we'd love to see you there.

Awareness is my (Imelda) word for 2026, and lately I've been sitting with its shadow side.

When I first started doing this work, I became very aware of my thoughts and emotions.

And I remember chatting to my husband about something I’d been analysing about myself.

He listened for a while and then said, “Sounds like paralysis by analysis.” 😊

He wasn’t wrong.

Sometimes what we think is awareness… can quietly turn into overthinking.

Analysing every thought, every reaction, every feeling.

Trying to figure it all out. Fix it. Improve it.

True awareness isn’t about fixing.

It’s about noticing.

Something I've noticed and that comes up a lot in the work we do, is that sometimes the most helpful thing isn't shifting a feeling, it's allowing it.

Emotions are a bit like weather passing through the sky.

Awareness doesn’t mean we need to control the weather.

Sometimes it’s just noticing the rain… without trying to change it.

And trusting that it will pass.

I’m curious, have you ever caught yourself slipping from awareness into overthinking?

Beliefs are the things we take on as facts about ourselves and the world.

They quietly shape how we feel, how we react, and the choices we make, often without us realising we have any say in them at all.

When life is busy, we rarely stop to question them.

Here are some subtle signs a limiting belief might be running in the background 👀
• You’re often annoyed by others, thinking “If they were different, my life would be easier” 😤
• Life feels hard but you assume that’s just how it is for everyone
• You objectively have a good life, yet it doesn’t feel as satisfying as it ‘should’
• You wish you had more energy and put it down to being busy or getting older 🔋
• You notice the same frustrating themes showing up again and again, different situations, same feeling 🔁

Limiting beliefs don’t mean something is wrong with you.

They developed to protect you at some point. When they go unexamined, they can gradually influence a life that feels harder than it needs to be.

Awareness is often the first shift. Not forcing change, just noticing what’s been running the show begins to open up better possibilities.

It’s amazing how quickly we can create a story about someone without realising we’re the author.

Awareness gives us the pause to rewrite it.

Have you ever caught yourself doing this?”

🎧 A small reminder of the power of audio recordings…

When my voice recorder stopped working recently, it unexpectedly made me pause and reflect on how valuable audio recordings have been since doing mindset work 🤔

A few things stood out:

1️⃣ How useful audio recordings are for keeping our mind focused on what we want and what matters
2️⃣ There’s something powerful about using your own voice — it’s like becoming your own coach 🗣️
3️⃣ I was surprised by how much people enjoyed creating their own recordings during a workplace wellbeing training session — even those who were hesitant at first 🌱

I know many of us have that initial discomfort when hearing our voice recorded (cringe can be real 😅)…
Yet it can also be an effective tool for us.

Is using audio recordings something you utilise as part of your success strategies? 👀✨

During a recent planning day, I asked Rebecca if she had chosen a word for the year 🤔
She hadn’t.
That surprised me — Rebecca always has one.

She asked if I had.
I realised I did.

Awareness 👀

Not because I’ve mastered it, but because I keep noticing how powerful it is when I slow down enough to see what’s really happening 🐢
Sometimes the biggest shifts start with simply noticing ✨

One of the most common limiting beliefs we saw last year 👀

We reviewed the reasons people came to coaching over the past year and noticed a clear pattern.

One of the top five limiting beliefs impacting our clients’ lives was:
“If I say something, it will make it worse.”

It’s an especially draining one.

Often it means years of:
• pushing down what you really think 🤐
• feeling annoyed at others for not behaving differently
• being frustrated with yourself for not finding the words or not saying them

What’s interesting is who this belief shows up for.

It’s not just people who describe themselves as anxious. We often see it in people others view as confident, capable, and successful on the outside.

Three things worth knowing about beliefs 💡
1️⃣ Logic alone rarely changes them. You can understand a situation perfectly and still feel stuck. Beliefs live in the subconscious and habitual part of the mind — not the logical one.

2️⃣ Every belief once had a job
At some point, this belief likely offered protection — from conflict, rejection, or making things worse. When it starts costing you peace or connection, it’s ready for an update 🔄

3️⃣ There’s always another option
When we understand how the subconscious works, new possibilities open up — ones where nothing is lost and a lot is gained ✨

Awareness is often the first moment the belief starts to loosen.

🌱 We Stepped Away from Social Media (And What Changed)

Last year, apart from a couple of posts and updates about trainings and events, we were largely absent from social media 📵

There were a few reasons for this. Partly, we’d become disillusioned with how much of social media seemed to be filled with negativity or constant selling, even when the sell was framed as “Look how great my life is.” 🤷‍♀️

On a more personal level, life was guiding us to something different 🌿

For Imelda, her mother passed away at the start of 2024, and it felt like a time to go inward and allow space for grief 💛. It brought a deep clarity about what truly mattered and social media wasn’t on that list.

For Rebecca, in February 2025, there was a strong sense of her body saying no 🧘‍♀️
• No to strenuous exercise
• No to new projects
• No to social media

From a business perspective, we’d had it well and truly drummed into us how important consistency is — being visible, staying front of mind, showing up even when it’s uncomfortable 📈

And yet, one of the core things we teach is how to listen to inner guidance.

Ours was clearly saying: take a break.

If our hearts weren’t in it, people would feel that. It would take energy without creating real connection or results ⚡️

What we didn’t expect was how long that break would be ⏳

Over time, our comfort zone around creating videos shrank. Then, towards the end of the year, something began to shift ✨. Ideas started to return slowly. Even though we didn’t post anything, it felt like progress.

Last week, we both noticed a genuine sense of excitement and readiness to share again 💬

Not from obligation, but because it felt right.

A desire to talk about the things we care most about:
• how mindset shapes communication 🧠
• how to let go of limiting beliefs 🔓
• how emotions can guide success rather than get in the way 🌊

We’re sharing this because we know there may be people quietly listening to their own ‘no’ and wondering when, or if, the ‘yes’ will come.

Sometimes it just needs time 🌱
