We were over the moon when we found out that award-winning filmmaker, Chloé Zhao read both of our books, and has been leaning on the practice of menstrual cycle awareness to support her through her own midlife journey.

We had the privilege of interviewing her recently for the Menstruality podcast, where she told us about how she worked with the wisdom of the menstrual cycle on set, as she was directing her recent Oscar-award winning film, Hamnet.

She told us about how she shares her cycle tracking practice with her team and her production company, and how getting to know the inner seasons of her cycle has enhanced her creative process.

One of the highlights of the conversation for us, was when she shared what the premenstrual and menstrual phases of the cycle have taught Chloé about how to embody creative death and rebirth, and how this played out in the creation of the film.

We’ll be publishing the episode tomorrow - so excited to hear what you think!

Shout out to Te Ara Sophia who hosted our Māmā s session this evening in Ōpawa. This beautiful space has art studio, meeting and therapy rooms as well as a hairdressers and play/exercise areas.
For me, it really is a treat to come to the therapeutic offerings here but also to welcome people to mine! 🌺

I’m happy to be speaking at the Wellness Festival 2026 in Christchurch this weekend! My talk is called “The Femenome: A New View of Women’s Hormonal Life”, and it's on Saturday 28th Feb at 4.15 at The Lotus-Heart, 363 St Asaph Street.
The festival is free to attend and runs Saturday 28 Feb – Sunday 1 March, with talks, workshops, sound journey, meditation, and an artisan market.
