I always aim to show reality and don't hide the hard things, particularly in the home as a mama.

California poppy and saffron tincture is my go to rescue remedy for irritability and overstimulation.

As a mama I struggle with overstimulation and when children are having an extra emotional day I struggle to stay regulated.
Emotional regulation was not something I learnt growing up but it's something that I'm working on now.
Some days are harder than others and today has started with a hiss and a roar of emotions.

Just something light-hearted I tried to get my little man to sleep....
Can confirm it doesn't work on his screaming or getting him to sleep....

500mls of warm water
2-3 Tbsp yeast
1 Tbsp honey

(Mix and allow to bloom)
Add remaining ingredients

5 cups flour (have some flour extra for kneading)
1/2 cup wheat germ (optional)
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tsp salt
1 egg for egg wash (optional)
Poppy seeds, seasome seeds, sunflower seeds, etc (optional)

Mix then knead until dough feels sticky and silky about 5-10 mins by hand or in mixer.
Let it rise till double in size
Split in two for two bread loaves or make one big round loaf.
Bake at 180°, fan bake for 35 mins.

Unpopular option!!!

I really struggle to breast feed, but I do it because I know it's better for my babies.
(No judgement at all to those who don't)

I find it overstimulating and it makes me feel extremely touched out some days

Lesson learnt from this extremely independent mama.... It's okay to ask for help!

I try to do a lot of jobs by myself, a lot of which I probably should ask for help. I have an extremely supportive partner unfortunately I am just not good at asking for help.
Also often I think we as mothers take on tasks that we shouldn't be carrying alone.
I know this is just a couch that needed moving but in our day-to-day lives we carry too much.We need to learn how to share the load with our partners/husbands/spouses etc.

Making rice without a rice cooker was not something I'd planned on doing years ago.
I just learned how toxic the coating was on my rice cooker and then I saw how scratched up it was and was horrified that I'd been ingesting that for a long time.
So I moved to using a stoneware dish in the oven because I was also hopeless at cooking rice on the stove in a pot.

I don't think I have ever had rice fail in the stoneware dishes.

Goal: clear out unplayed with toys and do our monthly toy swap.

How it's going: Mom has become over stimulated with all of the mess and is currently paralyzed with job fatigue... And the toddler is now playing with my piles.....

The garden is my sanctuary, it is where I go when I need to be grounded, but sometimes that's not enough, sometimes I need to be baptized with the power of flying dirt from my determination to remove my arch enemy...... Grass

Rumbledethumps lunch idea

It's so easy to get caught in the world of sandwiches for lunch. Well I'm here to tell you that you can make other things for lunch that are easy to put together and delicious!

I like to have a little bit of salad on the side with this but that is totally optional!

6 potatoes mashed (butter and milk to mash)
1 onion (optional) sauteed
1/2-1 small cabbage sauteed
Cheese of your choice

Mix the then bake for 15-20 ins at 180°

There are a few weeds that scream medicinal that so many people overlook.
Here are just two of the many!

Dandelion - whole plant is medicinal- this is a fantastic liver herb as well as gut health Herb as it fades the good bacteria in your guts. This is a herb that everybody should be taking!

Cleavers - The whole plant is medicinal. This is a fantastic lymphatic herb among so many other properties! Another herb that everybody should be taking whenever they feel stuck, groggy, sick.

Just to show I definitely practice what I preach!
Our simple Christmas salad.

Nasturtium = Peppery
Clovers = nutty
Pansy = pepper without the spicy

We also put calendula and mellow, but they're more for colour as the flavor is very mild.

Great way to make your food more colourful.
