💙 Not every run needs data 💙

These days, running feels so focused on zones, paces, splits, PB’s and comparisons. We chase numbers and forget to chase joy.

But do you remember the first time you ran your furthest distance ever? Not the pace, not the stats - but the feeling?

✨The excitement
✨The person you couldn’t wait to tell
✨The happy space you were in when you finished.

My mum ran her fastest marathon with a Casio watch (3hrs 1 minute - Crazy!!!!). No splits, no GPS, just pure determination and love for the run.
When I ran mine, I had no watch, no idea of my pace- just memories.

Like the boy handing out jelly babies (life saver!)
I can still hear the steel drum band.
Spotting my family and friends in the crowds and running in for a hug.

I didn’t know my exact time at the end, but I’ll NEVER forget the tears of joy at the finish. I did what I went to do, and loved every minute, and that feeling has never left me.

Yes zones are great for training. But when you’re just starting out, or doing your first big event, is that really the most important thing?
I hope the first thing people ask you isn’t “what was your time? But, “did you enjoy it?”, “how did it feel?”.

Because at the end of the day, that’s what really stays with you, the feeling.

Run for joy.
Run for meaning.
Run for you 💜

A reminder that tomorrow is our run focused strength and conditioning class to support women who have entered the Harcourts HB Women’s Tri, thinking of entering or want to improve their running.

Don’t be put off by the “run focused session”, there isn’t actually a lot of running.
It’s about effectively supporting, mobilising and strengthening the body for when you are running.

It is completely FREE (bonus!)
8-9am at Clive school

So we’re just a few days away from the run focused strength and conditioning class for the Harcourts HB Women’s Tri!

This is for anyone who has entered the Harcourt’s women’s triathlon, or if you are still undecided, the workshops that Heretaunga Women's Centre are offering will be great to attend to see how you can be supported in achieving your goal.

This class will be a great way to get some ideas of how you can be incorporating strength into your weekly training with some ideas of what you could be doing at home, or joining classes.

You can build great foundations before race day, to support you in getting the best of yourselves on the day 🏃‍♀️

Good morning ☀️🌿

I need to ask you all to do a little something for me….

Watching this community grow surpasses all my expectations.
But, I know that there are so many more women we can reach that would benefit from more movement, exercise and a place they can feel at home when they come to do that.
That’s where you come in 🙏

Firstly, sharing one of my posts of class means that you reach your friends and family and it spreads the word (pick any one ☺️).
Then, by leaving a review on my page it allows people to hear from you exactly what it’s like.

My favourite parts are watching the progress all you ladies have made, but mostly the connections and friendships!

It’s everything I had hoped for when I started the business, to create the feeling of community.

Somewhere you can go to not only exercise, but a place to be truly yourself. To have meaningful conversations, meet people you may not normally cross paths with and have lots of laughs and fun along the way 💙

Hidden amongst the trees is the peaceful sanctuary of Tuki wellbeing co 🌿
We spent the evening between the invigorating cold plunge and sat back and relaxed in the sauna.

The space is beautiful and calm, and really makes you feel cut off from the outside world.
It allowed for meaningful connection and conversation, with lots of laughs in between.

Although challenging, it was unbelievably rewarding, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind with friends, or spend some quality time with your partner.

We will definitely be back 💙🌿
