Well done to everyone who completed the Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand house to house challenge this month 🏃‍♀️

Over 2300km run or walked, great teamwork again, and new connections made 💜

The best part…..thanks to you all, we raised $1430 to support this incredible charity in delivering comfort and support to families when they need it most.

So tomorrow is the start of a new month, which means a new challenge.

I really love that you’re all still keen to complete them, they are definitely keeping me motivated and moving!

This April we will be filling out into cards!
They are not all things fitness, but overall wellbeing and a bit of fun (even though there’s burpees - but not many!!).

Absolutely everyone has the capability to complete this, so let’s hopefully have a big turnout!

With your activities, you post and give Emily Mains fitness a tag. This proved last month to be super motivating, and a great way to see how everyone is progressing with it. It might also inspire some to get involved as this can be started during the month also.
For each post/tag you will get 10 points!

And of course….there is prizes 🏆

Here’s what’s on this Easter week 🐣

Plenty of things to get involved with this week whether you’re continuing your fitness with us, or just starting out.

Youthfit won’t be on as school finishes on Thursday.

There will be no class Easter Sunday as I will be playing Easter bunny 🐰
I will post a workout that morning for you all, and would love to hear how it goes!

We will also be starting our April challenge from Wednesday, so keep an eye out for the posts!
The challenges have been a great way to stay motivated, and this one will be no different 💜

Last night we moved to the track! 🏃‍♀️

Often the thought of running anything more than a mile can be daunting for some.
But if we break it down, have a plan and take our time, suddenly it’s not so scary.
You realise that you are more than capable (although I knew you always were!).

Great session last night, and one that we might be adding to the books!

For the final time this month, any donations made today for our Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand house to house challenge will be doubled by the rapid relief team!

We have raised almost $1300 so far for NZ families to have comfort and support during their time of need 💜

Some of our teams have finished their KM’s already, but there are still some left.
Your support for a great cause will not only benefit families, but also give them a huge boost in this final week.

As you all know, there are 22 of us completing the Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand house to house challenge this month.
We will be walking/running over 2200km to raise funds to keep their charity work going. Providing safe and comfortable spaces for families going through the unimaginable.

For today only, any donation made will be matched by the Rapid relief team!
So if you make a $10 donation it turns to $20!! This is an incredible opportunity for us to bump up the fundraising.

✨ New class ✨

We are now offering yoga classes with Kate 💜

Kate is an experienced yoga instructor, with many years under her belt.
She is calm, patient and has a gentle approach in her classes.

These classes will be in the Clive school hall, every Wednesday 6-6.45pm, starting Wednesday April 8th.
This class will be part of the membership option of $29 per week 💜

You can bring your own mat or there will be a number available at class.

We often hear about how we “used to be”.

I used to think this was me at my best.
I was strong, fit and fast and looked the way I thought I was supposed to.
But, I had crippling anxiety. I missed meals some days, not because I wanted to, but because I physically couldn’t eat.
I trained a lot, but as an escape.
From the outside, I looked fine. Inside, I wasn’t.

Now I look different. I’m softer in some places, stronger in others.
Sometimes I still compare my appearance.
But, the truth is, that version of me was just getting through it. She would have dreamed of this life.

The love I receive, the family I have, and my community isn’t measured by pace, size or appearance.
Feeling whole, living fully and being present is the kind of “great” I choose now.

No matter what, I would never go back 💙

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this beautiful sunny weekend ☀️

We’ve had some great classes this week, and have another packed week for you 💪

You will notice that there’s a bit of a change on Thursday.
There are activities going on at the school so we are unable to do class there.
What we will do instead is run a track session at the Mitre 10 sports park in Hastings. This will be a running session with some interval training.
It will still be run at your own pace, so suitable for all fitness levels.
