Dunedin | Ōtepoti Feed My Flat is brought to you by the Department of Human Nutrition.

It's a weekly student food bag, with recipes designed especially for flatting students. This is a non-profit initiative to provide healthy affordable meals despite the rising food cost. It’s our last day running the food trailer for the year, so we’ve brought back a favourite — the classic Mexican bowl! It was created by some of our 400-level students a few years back and heaps of people have said how much they love it.

We’ll be closed for the rest of the year, but we’ll be back next year! Thank you to everyone who visited us and has been our regulars since the start of the semester, we’ll miss you 💛

We’ll keep you updated if we end up doing any events in the second semester!!

We hope you enjoyed the menu created by the HUNT246 students over the last couple weeks, thank you for coming!! Today, we have enchiladas served with LOTS of fresh salad ☺️ next Wednesday 28th March will be the final day of the food trailer for this semester 💛

After this Wednesday, the food trailer will reopen on Monday 28th April. From then, we’ll be open most days with our students running things as part of their course. They’ve been working on menu designs for their latest assignment, and you’ll be able to see (and taste) what they’ve come up with ✨ we’re so excited and hope you’re too, see you tomorrow and see you in two weeks time for our students’ menu!! 🥰

We’ve been enjoying the nice weather, and the kitchen smells amazing as we prepare to open Taraka Kai tomorrow! We’re serving butter chicken or creamy dahl with naan bread and plenty of fresh, tasty salad! Can’t wait to share it with all of you 💛

The department of human nutrition food trailer - Taraka Kai will be serving Okonomiyaki with either teriyaki chicken or teriyaki tofu tomorrow!! The weather is not looking the best but we promise you won’t have to wait long for this meal, we’ll be at the Union Lawn besides the Dumpling Lady from 11am until 1.30pm 💛

Sophie Wilson, Hitisha Chand, and Naila Alfi Syarifah will be taking over Taraka Kai tomorrow, serving empanadas they’ve designed for the food truck menu! ❤️ They made everything from scratch including the pastries. We rolled soooooooo many empanada pastries in the kitchen—it was quite a mission, but so much fun at the same time. It’s one of the best times to chat and still be productive.

Come visit the food truck tomorrow, same place, same time (11:00 am until sold out)!

It’s empanada day this Wednesday - designed by HUNT444 students Hitisha, Naila and Sophie as part of their food truck proposal assignment! They believe that eating healthy does not mean your food had to be boring, it can be delicious and you can still aim to eat according to the Ministry of Health healthy eating guidelines. We can’t wait to try their menu this week!!

This Wednesday will be another student takeover, and it’s also the last food truck of the year. We’ll post the menu later today!

HUNT 444 students Valentina, MacKensie, and Shilpa have been making flatbreads all morning in preparation for tomorrow – go them!! They chose Greek gyros for their menu because they like that it’s fresh, filling, and nutritious. We’re excited to see you all tomorrow and appreciate any feedback for the students!
