Sub-Contractor Wanted – Rural Fencing

DW Fencing & Rural Services is on the lookout for a reliable fencing sub-contractor to join our team.

You must be self-employed and have your own vehicle, but you don’t need your own tools — we provide good-quality gear and equipment.

We’re after someone who:
- Takes genuine pride in their workmanship
- Understands that quality comes first — no shortcuts
- Is reliable, motivated, and easy to work with
- Treats every job like their reputation is on the line (because ours is)

Our work is our brand, and we’re known for doing things properly. If you enjoy producing fences you’re proud to put your name to, you’ll fit in well here.

Daniel started DW Fencing & Rural services with his partner Troye in 2020 when they returned to the Manawatu after spending 7 years on the east coast of the North Island. They settled in Feilding, and have been growing their business since.

A week ago, I started this line but had a bit of a setback… really thankful for everyone who offered to help me with my current workload at the moment!

Big shoutout to Wilton weeks from WW Fencing for giving me a hand today.

This is not how I intended to start off 2026!

So friday started off like just another day, but after a momentary lapse in concentration with the post rammer, I managed to lop the tip of my thumb off.

Massive shout out to the team at the Lower hut hospital plastics, they did a great job trimming the bone back, removing the nail bed and sewing it all back together.

As for Palmerston North hospital where we waited more that 14 hours in the A&E waiting room without any treatment or antibiotics…. Be better…
The massively outnumbered staff there are absolute rock stars dispite seemingly working around some massive limitations.

We hope to be back on the tools as soon as possible, if anyone is waiting on upcoming work I appreciate your patience.

Cheers guys, stay safe out there!

A little reminder popped up on my phone that it is our 5th year in business, where did that time go? 🤯 We started this page today in 2020 to document our journey and create a place where people could view some of our work and reach out to us for inquiries.
We’ve got a few things planned for next year, spoiler alert there’s a website on its way!! 🙌

Hope everyone’s recovering after a day of festivities, we enjoyed a couple different gatherings with family and friends. We will take another day to recharge and then back on the tools tomorrow 👍

Merry Christmas and happy new year from the team at DW Fencing. We will take a couple days break to rest and spend time with family and then back into it.

Thanks to all of our wonderful clients who have supported us, we wouldn’t be here without you.

Stay safe out there and enjoy quality time with your loved ones! 🎅 🎄
