Muscle and fat
It's important to know
- Muscle is denser than fat. Muscle literally takes up less real estate on your body. This is why losing even 1kg can really show.
- To lose body fat it's ideal to be in a deficit of around 500 calories per day. During a deficit the intention is to lose body fat and maintain lean muscle mass.
- Muscle gain most commonly occurs in a calorie surplus in conjunction with a strength training program.
