🤢 There has been a nasty gastro bug going around lately and it's been hitting young and old. Here are some gentle, natural ways to help your body fight it & recover 🌿
AT THE FIRST SIGN OF NAUSEA, VOMITING, TUMMY CRAMPS OR LOOSE STOOLS.
✨ Take activated charcoal - 1 teaspoon in a big glass of water or 4 capsules. Do this again 3 - 4 hours later.
✨ Colloidal Silver is also another fabulous natural medicine to take to stop a tummy bug in its tracks. Take it straight or mix with water (I prefer straight and it tastes just like water).
It's great for getting into kids! 30 - 50mls mls at the onset and 30mls again every 3-4 hours on that first day.
✨ Garlic and oregano oil are also great to kill the harmful bacteria that cause gastro bugs.
💧 Hydrate
Sip water, herbal teas, or coconut water to replace lost fluids and minerals. Add a little sea salt + honey to water for a natural electrolyte boost.
🌱 Rest your tummy
Skip solid foods for 12–24 hours if you’re still queasy. When ready, start back with light foods — banana, rice, toast, or broth.
🌼 Soothe nausea
Ginger, cinnamon & peppermint teas work wonders for calming the stomach and easing cramps.
🦠 Restore your gut
Once you’re feeling better, add probiotics or fermented foods (like yoghurt, kombucha or sauerkraut) to bring your healthy bacteria back into balance.
🍎 Gentle healing foods
Stick with soups, porridge, and steamed veggies for a few days — avoid dairy, sugar, and fried foods until your digestion settles.
