🤸🏼🧡🤸🏼🧡🤸🏼🧡�We have made some recent changes in order to thoroughly comply to the current guidelines from the Ministry of Health regarding appropriate pre-screening and treatment protocols. ***** We assure you that all our practitioners will be under strict compliance with the current Ministry of Health guidelines and have been informed that under these pre-screening protocols it is not mandatory for osteopaths to wear PPE. However, The Local Osteo is fully stocked and equipped with ALL necessary and appropriate PPE and is ready to be used if required. We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your appointment and welcome you to request the use of PPE should you prefer. ******
****** Patients who are classified as vulnerable groups or pose a higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 can be rest assured that our Osteopaths will continue to wear all necessary PPE where required.******
* You are welcome to bring your own face mask if you wish.�* We kindly ask that you only come into the practice at your appointed time as appointments will be scheduled to minimise all patient cross-over. However, should you arrive and see more than 2 people in the waiting room, please wait either in your car or by the entrance and enjoy the garden court yard.
Please understand that we are trying to finish each appointment on time to ensure no wait times, sanitisation protocols are followed and a rapid flow of patients throughout the practice. Your patience is so appreciated.

Is your bag the reason for your pain??
👜🤷‍♀️🎒

- Wearing a bag with only one strap curves the spine unnaturally, putting stress on the whole body.
- Pack heaviest objects into the backpack first so they are carried lower and closest to the body
- When your bag sits too high it can force the head to become positioned forward, causing neck strain
- Adjust the straps to fit the backpack snugly to the body;
Hold the bottom of the backpack 2 inches above the waist and keeping the top just below the base of the skull; do not carry the backpack low near the buttocks
- Do not lean forward when walking; if this is necessary, there is too much weight in the backpack- Studies suggest that backpack weight should be limited to 10-15% of your overall bodyweight.
- Clean out the backpack at least once a week so that you aren’t carrying any unnecessary, extra
weight!

As I wrap up the first official week since The Local Osteo opened here's what I have learnt;

1. Be sure to get ample sleep.
2. Seriously, get some sleep.
3. Reflect and appreciate every small success! (even though it may not feel like a success in the mass accumulation of tasks).
4. Have fun!
