* Are the doctors qualified?
Yes. Virtual consults are provided by fully qualified, registered NZ doctors. Many hold FACEM qualifications (Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine), which represents the highest standard of training for emergency physicians in Australia and New Zealand.

* Can I get a prescription?
Yes — if clinically appropriate. Doctors can issue electronic prescriptions that can be sent directly to your chosen pharmacy.

* How quickly can I see a doctor?
Straight away. Emergency Consult are available 24/7, 365 days with no appointment required.

* Is it suitable for children to be seen online?
Yes. Parents or guardians can organise consultations on behalf of their children but they will need to be present during the consult.

* What devices can I use?
Emergency Consult works on:
• Smartphones
• Tablets
• Laptops
• Desktop computers
As long as you have internet access, a camera (for video consults), and a microphone, you’re good to go.
