There comes a moment on every woman’s healing journey where she stops running.

Not because the fear is gone
But because she finally feels safe enough to face it.

From a young age, you’ve been taught that being selfless is a virtue

Whether it’s the messages from family, society, or even the media

And you absorbed the belief that prioritising your needs makes you selfish or entitled

That's why when you finally carve out a moment for yourself — a quiet cup of coffee, a leisurely walk, a new hobby — guilt sneaks in

You may hear your inner mean girl in your head, reminding you of all the things left undone or the people who need you

But when you feel guilt or shame, and haven’t actually done anything wrong, what you are experiencing is something known as a limiting belief

A limiting belief is a thought or conviction that limits us in some way

In this case, you hold a belief that putting yourself first is selfish or wrong… and that’s why you feel so guilty! Even though you haven’t done anything “bad”!

Thoughts like:

“𝙄 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛,” --or-- “𝙄𝙛 𝙄 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨, 𝙄’𝙢 𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣"

The problem is that these beliefs are not true

And these beliefs are the reason you’re unable to stick to things you start (self care, hobbies), and experience burnout and irritability

Our beliefs shape our actions and inactions

And these limiting beliefs trap you in a cycle of misery

Draining your energy

And they're preventing you from fully engaging with life, and discovering who you really are beyond the label like "mum", "wife", "gym rat", "sister", "employee" etc

The good news is that we have the power to challenge and change these limiting beliefs

And when you learn to finally put yourself first, you can more successfully show up for your loved ones

haven't always noticed the synchronicities that appear in front of me. Despite always having strong 'gut feelings' about things, i didn't always listen.

It's easy to think that these synchronicities are just a coincidence, and someone who is skeptical and closed off from being able to look at things from a different perspective will think it's just that, a coincidence.

What i know to be true now is that the messages have always been coming through, i just wasn't attuned to receiving them, and that's ok. At that stage of my life journey, I was unable to receive them.

I was in a place where i was trying to make decisions from the logical part of my mind, or my thinking brain. And because of that, i was often trying to force things. And sometimes i still fall into this way of decision making, but i also now have more awareness and can often identify that that's what happened and then feel into why I made a decision from what may have been an unaligned space.

I've quite literally had to shed some of the parts of myself that keep me stuck in the loop of making forced decisions and i've been able to do this because i trust that the Universe will provide me with clear nudges of the direction i need to head in.

It's a funny old thing, cause the minute i make a forced decision, it never feels right in my body, and so because of this i've stepped away from some spaces and people and it's almost like i'm able to release that unaligned energy.

And through the process i've been able to unlearn some behaviours and habits, and release some of the coping mechanisms i'd developed in my life time.

Do you wake excited for the day ahead, or is the below your everyday reality?

Your alarm goes in the morning, you snooze it because you stayed up late scrolling or mindlessly watching netflix and you're already exhausted before your feet hit the floor!

You jump out of bed, because you're already late, so your stressing from the get go!

All you can think about is how much you have to do today, maybe the kids are being difficult, they're not helping out, they're fighting, and you know you're all going to be late getting out the door or someone is going to forget their shoes.

You drop them off in a hurry and race to work - and everything goes wrong, the stress compounds, your workload feels bigger than life itself and you start daydreaming about all the people you follow on instagram who seem to live the good life. You wish you could live the way they do, relaxing by a pool, dinners out with your partner or girlfriends, kids who are happy.

And so you start resenting that you don't have that life, and you finally finish work, head home, the kids are tired, your husband isn't helping and you now have washing, dinner, homework and bed time routines and once all that's done, you have to catch up on house work and the work you brought home.

Before you know it, it's 10pm, you've just sat down, you get stuck in a scroll hole, and your firmly planted in front of netflix.

You've had ZERO time during the day to change your state. Your nervous system can't cope. You're overwhelmed and anxious and you know that tomorrow when you wake up, it's going to be exactly the same.

You are living your very own groundhog day.

To know who you are, you must first know who you are not!

I see you day dreaming about what could be, what you want, and more often than not, focusing on what you don’t want!

You’re sick of feeling like you are living in a literal s**t storm day in and day out.

You see all these women on social media going on self-discovery journeys, journeys that have them land connected to spirituality, connected to their inner worlds and living an abundant life, and you want that too. You want the happiness, you want the joy, you want the positive mindset, but it looks so overwhelming. And you think it comes with great sacrifice.

You convince yourself that level of happiness isn’t available for you.

But it is, all possibilities exist for you.

The key piece I see women missing when they set out on these journeys trying to find out who they are is, not really looking into who they are not!
These are the parts of themselves that have been designed to protect them and keep you safe. But what keeps you safe doesn’t allow for growth and change.
These parts aren’t inherently ‘bad’, in fact finding love for these parts of yourself is really a key piece to being able to grow.

In order to move forwards, you have to be able to identify what’s keeping you in the here and now, where you know you’re not content, you feel like something is missing!

There is a way forward, and it starts with a choice. It’s where your choice gets to be all about you and not about anyone else. And as hard as that might be for most of you (because let’s face it, you are the glue that holds so much together), YOU MATTER! And you are deserving of the happiness you crave. It doesn’t make you selfish, it makes you whole.

Do you ever feel like life's just a bit s**t! 💩

Like you're just destined to attract s**t no matter what you do?

You're doing everything for everyone else, but still, life is s**t!

You've totally given up on expecting what you want to actually happen.

If any of this sounds familiar, I see you 👀

I used to live this huge contradiction of being grateful for all i had in life, but still thinking it was s**tty!

No matter what, I just couldn't get my own s**t together and because of that, i was subconsciously attracting the absolute opposite of what i wanted. 🙄

When i changed how i looked at life, i changed my view, then what i saw changed.

I wasn't seeing negativity around me, and all of a sudden life just started getting better and better.

I stopped sacrificing what i wanted, and all of a sudden, i started finding time in my days to do the things i wanted. 🧘‍♂️

The moral of this very short story, is that when i became conscious of how i viewed the world, how i spoke, how i thought, life started changing. 🙌

I worked out really quickly that i was the creator of my own story, which meant i could start a new chapter and change the narrative completely.

An i've gone from life's s**t, to holy s**t, how amazing that this gets to be the life i live now.
