Being a mum to 2 young girls and living rurally has left many nights feeling isolated and alone, paintinghas provided a creative outlet for me and has led to paint nights for other mums where we get togetherand have that much needed adult conversation.

My name is Brianna and I am an Autistic woman who also experiences Anxiety and Depression. Becauseof this, I have significant sensory sensitivities of which I struggle with daily.
I find being creative, making things with my hands, to be relaxing and fun, thereby helping me to mitigatemy struggles. I also find it satisfying to come up with a concept, figure out how to make it happen, andFinally see it to fruition.

I have used art to help lift my mood when in dark spaces with depression and anxiety for most of my life
but in the last year I moved to watercolour because my daughter who was 7 said that I try to live my life
with joy and colour and my graphite pencil drawings were too dark so I decided to teach myswlf
watercolour. I have found the process very therapeutic using colour and learning to let myself flow with
the liquid and embrace the quirks that come with not being able to erase a mistake. There is beauty in
imperfections and this helps me to really embrace looming forward, finding hope even when at times
life feels really messy. My art allows me to quiet my mind from fears, darkness and worry and focus on
beauty and colour all around me!

These works are a physical portrayal of thoughts.
Through their creation the weight of the thoughts are moved from the artist into the work.
Each work follows the same process
•Create
•Destroy
•Heal
Through this process the thoughts are released.

"Art, for me is an expression that cannot be described with words. Share a
feeling, idea or experience that cannot necessarily be communicated.
The process of creating art can be cathartic and can help you work through
deep feelings or concepts you might be dealing with.
I am in a good place right now and I wish to share my joy and warmth
through my work"
