This is Rachel, Team Leader – Donor Relations Waikato and Bay of Plenty. She has been working behind the scenes for the past two and a half years supporting our donors and community.
Rachel would like to let you know that we still have 29 whole blood and 114 plasma appointments available next week. To help meet demand, we’ll also be open on Saturday over King’s Birthday weekend.

The first in a six-part mini-documentary series following the ‘journey of blood’ fronted by Stuff journalist Paddy Gower, started yesterday.

In each weekly episode, Paddy, who has never donated before will learn about the various steps leading up to, during, and after donation, before ultimately rolling up his own sleeve in the final episode.

It was lovely to meet Val at our mobile in Taupo today, donating plasma for the very first time. Our RN Kristen and Val had a great conversation over the menu as all snacks are served to our plasma donors on the bed. 🍪🧀🍎
