Nearly nineteen years ago, Chloe entered the world fighting for her life. Born with gastroschisis, she needed blood to survive those first fragile days. Today, she’s standing on the other side of that story! Strong, thriving, and proudly making her very first blood donation. For Chloe, it’s more than a milestone. It's a chance to give back to those who literally saved her life. Thank you Chloe, we look forward to seeing you regularly ☺️

🚗❤️ Team Red on the Road!

This month, members of the Motor Trade Association (MTA) are visiting donor centres across New Zealand to donate blood or plasma as part of their new Team Red initiative.
To recognise and thank these incredible donors, MTA has generously donated 4 × $50 MTA vouchers, which will be drawn alongside our monthly 🌸 flower draw winners for the next four months.
A huge thank you to MTA for your generosity and support — pictured below are Nick and Shelley with the donated vouchers.

✨ Today we’re celebrating two of our very special donors! ✨

In the first photo, we have Anne ✨, who has recently reached an incredible milestone — her 100th donation! With over 40 years of experience as a nurse, and as a dedicated volunteer with our friends at the Cancer Society, Anne truly understands what donating plasma means to those who need it most ❤️

In the second photo, wearing the red top, is Lesley ✨, who is celebrating her amazing 300th donation. Lesley was inspired to give back after her brother received multiple units of whole blood — a powerful reminder of just how life‑changing donations can be.

If you have some free time this week in the lead up to Easter, hop on in, we still need 61 plasma donations to keep up with demand, and we’d love to see you! 🐰

This is Toby, at just 17 years old, he has already completed four donations — and his last two have been plasma! 💛 Toby is keen to encourage other young people to roll up their sleeves and save lives.

Today, Rachel and Mikyla, two of our Donor Relations Coordinators volunteered for the Child Cancer Foundation's annual street appeal, a cause close to our hearts. Knowing that 26% of our blood products support cancer patients reminds us how important it is to do our bit for those who need it most 🩵

Meet the team! ✨

This is Kaesen, who a lot of you may recognise, alongside one of our newest staff members, Rebecca! Now in her sixth week with us, she brings valuable experience from the Acute Medical Unit at Waikato Hospital and a calm, caring presence that donors appreciate. We’re stoked to have her join the NZBS family ❤

Two Milwaukee Tools NZ team members visited our blood drive in Napier on Tuesday 24th February to donate blood, taking part in their company’s long running Pay It Forward scheme. This initiative encourages staff to give back to their communities during paid work hours, and these two chose to support blood donation 😃

While they were there, they were keen to learn more about plasma donation and spent time chatting with the team about the upcoming Plasma Mobile visit in May. Reon has already booked his spot!

Their visit is a great example of how workplaces can actively support employees to make a meaningful difference in their communities. Thanks Milwaukee Tools, we look forward to seeing your staff again soon!
