The come back to health has started. I am 3 months post back surgery after a small set back 2 weeks ago that saw me back in hospital this time for a quick little kidney operation (didn't listen to my body opps).
Feeling more than ready to go and smash my goals and what's even better! I have my miss 15 as my training buddy.๐Ÿ’ชโค
Been back in the gym and today I felt so good getting back under a bar. Deadlifts where back on the menu, slow light (60kg)and steady it was but its a start. Feeling pumped,energized and ready to set,do and achieve some epic goals. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Whats even more special i am back at the gym I used to hide in the back of the classes and do when I was starting out my fitness journey 19 yrs ago. Life swings in roundabouts.

IFIT DOSEN'T CHALLENGE YOU! YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE IT.
PAIN. We all have it right? Do we use pain as an excuse to not do something or do we use it as a driver to fix things.
For me I like to use pain as a driving force to change things, let it be a situation or physical pain.
For the last 2 months I have had 3 appointments with my surgeon who operated on my back 5 times in 2010 I live with back pain most days but have always just put that to the side I havnt let it define me or stop me doing most things in my life. Last month I left the surgeons office got in my car and cried, he had just told me I had busted a new part of my back and fully compressed my femoral nerve at level L3 and L4. I fully cried and was upset for the rest of that day. I don't want to be going through this all again, why me all that jazz. I let myself feel those emotions and then the next morning I awoke with the attitude use this to your advantage. I needed a wakeup call and thats what I was given. I have gained weight and let my pain stop me from doing what I love and thats being healthy and inspiring others to reach their goals. So with surgery coming up for me in the future I am going to use the emotional pain to drive my comeback to health. My surgeon told me how proud he was that I havnt just gone to the couch and used my pain as an excuse to do nothing I proved that with a 7 hr walk over the tongariro Alpine Crossing 2 days before my mri that showed my damage. I am an easy patient as I am willing to do the work that means a fast recovery and a successful return to what I love to do and thats lift heavy things, safely of course and always with a trainer (very much approved and encouraged by my surgeon.
I have decided I will use this page to show my journey back to where I was 2 yrs ago and hopefully inspire others to keep moving forward . If you find yourself in a similar situation or just need some guidance I am always here to help.

The boxing class was going off tonight. What a bunch of epic humans getting it done.....
Boxing is great for getting the heart rate up and the arms pumping ๐ŸฅŠ๐ŸฅŠ all with low to no impact on the lower body great for those with knee or lower body injurys .

Weekend workout. Short on time? Here is a workout with only 4 peices of equipment.
Jump on spotify and look up tabata and you have your workout music sorted.
Each song is around 4 min each and counts out 8 rounds for you with your rest times, no need to worry about counting just get sweaty ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Here are her kind words

At the start of this year I came across Sarah Mosen at Fit Body and Soul doing a boot camp at Flagstaff Park for what I thought was a reasonable price so I decided to give it a go. I paid up front for 2 sessions a week for 6 weeks as an incentive for me to keep going. Turns out I enjoyed it more than I thought and have kind of become addicted as I now go 5 days a week. These photos were with a relaxed stance and taken 7 months apart with just over 100 boot camp sessions in the middle. Being a smaller person I didnโ€™t have a weight goal, I just wanted to feel more comfortable in my own skin as, like most people, itโ€™s something Iโ€™ve struggled with. So far this year I have lost 7kgs and have definitely noticed the size difference in the clothes I wear! Sarah isnโ€™t just a personal trainer, sheโ€™s a warm and welcoming lady who would genuinely do anything she can for her clients! She makes boot camps fun as there is always lots of laughing involved! She hasnโ€™t only helped my physical wellbeing but also my mental wellbeing too. I could not recommend her enough for anyone that is wanting to live a healthier life!
