Know anyone struggling to lose weight, especially around their middle?
They've tried eating less but always feel hangry, they've tried HRT
and exercise but still can't shift the weight?

Losing weight during midlife (especially perimenopause/menopause) isn't as simple as "energy in < energy out". As we age the strategies need to change and support/accountability are non-negotiables.

I am now offering my successful 8 Week Eating Reset Programme as a group coaching option. Tell your friends. Singles and couples are welcome. The cost is
$40 per week for 8 weeks, or $30 per week for those who register by 1 March 2026.🥳

For several years I have been visiting Heiko for treatments at the acupuncture clinic in Hastings. He has helped me with endo symptoms, Covid, stress and broken sleep, as well as grief when my mum was dying.

At the moment Heiko is helping me with left shoulder impingement and inflammation of the shoulder joint. Interestingly his needles were nowhere near my sore shoulder - but in my right hand!
I don’t always understand the mechanisms behind traditional Chinese medicine, despite asking Heiko lots of questions, but sometimes all you need to know is that it works.

This is a good explanation of cholesterol and dispels a few myths. The role of metabolic health in heart disease (ie plaque formation in arteries) is often underplayed or not mentioned. There are many lifestyle levers at our disposal other than just statins to help prevent heart disease.

Blood sugar rollercoasters...🎢they're super common AND super hard to target the foods causing them. If you're having energy crashes at 3pm or battling stubborn weight loss it could be related to poor blood sugar control. Wearing a continuous glucose monitor for 2 weeks will give you valuable insight into the foods you eat and how they affect your energy, mood, focus and weight. CGMs also keep us disciplined and accountable.

If you're suffering from afternoon energy crashes, brain fog or stubborn weight loss I'm offering a 'Blood Sugar Control' mini coaching package that includes;
- 1 x wearable Linx continuous glucose monitor (which btw are tiny, painless and super easy to use) (worth $75)
- 4 x 30 minute 1-to-1 coaching sessions in person (Hawkes Bay only) or online to get set-up and learn how to interpret the data. I'll also give you some food and lifestyle challenges to test how your blood sugar responds.
- Total cost of $350 (or 2 x weekly payments of $175)
*Also ideal for Type 2 Diabetics.

🫩Can’t sleep past 4am? Join the club! Today in Melbourne I woke at 4am; but Australian time. WTF!? Early wakings can be due to stress or perimenopause. Either way the driver is probably cortisol. Here is how I am going to approach my sleep issue…

*Sometimes morning cortisol spikes in response to low blood glucose overnight.
TRY: adding in some whole food carbs later in the day. I’ve been eating strict keto the past 3 months and perhaps my body is experiencing some physiological stress?

*Sometimes hormone swings during perimenopause can bump up early morning cortisol.
TRY: restarting my estrogen therapy (HRT). I had stopped it 6 months ago because my hormone levels were looking good, and more importantly I felt good.

I’ve learnt personally, and working with 50+ clients, that it pays to listen to your body and experiment to find out what works best for you.
Don’t fall into the trap of doing what others do if it doesn’t suit your body and life.

Our bodies are unique, finely-tuned machines that give us feedback all the time…sometimes we just stop listening to them.
