Reminder to all FreeStyle Libre 2 CGM users...

The FreeStyle Libre 2 is currently funded by Pharmac for people living with type 1 diabetes, but will no longer be available from 1 November 2025. After this, it will be replaced with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus.

Anyone using the FreeStyle Libre 2 needs to get a new prescription the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus. Please talk to your GP, diabetes nurse specialist or whoever you usually see for prescribing to arrange this.

The initial special authority applications for CGMs were valid for 1 year so it might also be time to talk to your prescriber about your special authority renewal as well.
