Mōrena whānau, here is the Takapau Wharanui we have been working on, a design formulated by Toby Salmon and whānau. Toby walks alongside whānau in creating these. There is one more stage and that is putting on rau (leaves, bracken, fern, flowers of your choosing). Wife and I wanted to show they are easy to make and very affordable and they look amazing when they are completed. Materials we used from Bunnings are as follows:
* 2400mm x 1200mm x 18mm non-construction untreated
Plywood. $86.00
* Screen Brushwood 3000mm x 1800mm (cover) $64.93
* 32mm x 1.8mm Dowel Pine (handles) x 2 $62.52 ($31.26 each)
* 8mm x 10m Rope $9.98
