💜💜💜Thank you so much

I hold deep faith in the healing power of Rongoā Māori—not just in the rakau, but in the wairua that flows through every leaf, every root, every breath of the ngahere. When I prepare my rongoā, I do so with karakia, calling upon the atua who guide and protect this mahi: Tāne-mahuta who gifts us the forest, Rongo-mā-Tāne who nurtures peace and wellbeing, and Hineahuone who reminds us of our connection to the earth.

Each rakau I harvest is acknowledged as a living being, a vessel of mauri. I never take without asking, never prepare without gratitude. The healing doesn’t come from me—it comes through me, carried by the wisdom of my tūpuna and the aroha of the atua. My hands may mix the balm, but it is the spirit of the rakau, the vibration of karakia, and the intention of whakapapa that do the true healing.

This is not just medicine. It is ceremony. It is legacy. It is love.

🌿 Tūpākihi — the bone mender with bite
Warming touch, deep release.
Eases mamae in joints, nerves, and weary muscles.
Used in mirimiri, it travels where pain hides.
But beware the sweetness—its berries hold poison.
Prepared wrong, it harms. Prepared right, it heals.

“He rākau kaha, he rākau mōhio.”
A powerful plant, for those with wisdom.

Let this be your reminder: not all rongoā is gentle. Some demand respect, ritual, and deep mātauranga. Tūpākihi is one of them

🌿 Kawakawa — the heart-shaped healer
Grows where mamae lives.
Bittersweet balm for body and wairua.
Infused in tea, pressed in oil, laid gently on wounds.
It whispers: “Feel it all, then let it go.”
A plant of resilience, rhythm, and ritual.

“He rongoā, he oranga.”
Healing is wellbeing.

Or, if you’d like to go deeper:

“Ka tangi te kawakawa i te aroha.”
The kawakawa weeps with love.
— Often spoken at tangihanga, this whakataukī reminds us that healing and grief walk together.

Tātarāmoa — thorned healer of the ngahereCalms the restless mind, soothes moon-time painA brew for sleep, a balm for mamaeClimbs with purpose, like whakapapa through time“He iti tātarāmoa, e kore e taea te whakawhiu.”Even the small bush lawyer cannot be easily punished.— A reminder that even the smallest can defend with strength.

🌿 Mamaku – He Rākau Whakaora, He Kaitiaki o te NgahereKo te rākau i tū ai te wao, he rākau i ora ai te tangata. The tree that holds the forest is the tree that sustains the people.Beneath the misted cloak of ngahere,Mamaku rises—fronds unfurling like karakia, each rib a memory, each scar a story. She does not rush. She listens. She heals. Her pith, soft as breath, pressed to inflamed flesh—a poultice for mothers, a balm for birth. Her boiled fronds whisper release, guiding whenua and placenta back to Papatūānuku. She shelters seedlings in her shadow, feeds soil with fallen lace, cradles hihi in her arms of green.Even in decay, she nourishes.Mamaku is not just medicine—she is whakapapa in motion,a towering kuia with arms wide to the sky, reminding us: healing is slow, sacred, and cyclical.

Ko au he uri nō ngā tūpuna kua haere, he kaitiaki o te mātauranga, he kaihanga o te ao hou.I walk with my nanny’s whispers in my bones, and the breath of the ngahere in my lungs. My mahi is a karanga—calling forth healing, memory, and transformation.Through rongoā, pūrākau, and the geometry of whakapapa, I craft resources that speak to wairua and science alike. Each teaching card, each balm, each visual guide is a vessel—layered with intention, numeracy, and the wisdom of whenua.I am building not just a business, but a legacy:A marae-based healing hub, a garden of learning, a place where future kaitiaki rise.I do this not alone, but with the breath of my tūpuna behind me,and the dreams of my mokopuna ahead.Whakataukī:Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini. My strength is not that of a single warrior, but that of many.
