Ahhh…. I think it’s 7 years since I started using Arbonne products. I started with the nutritional side and slowly moved over to the skin and body care. And I love it all.

I do still try other nutritional lines, but I still get excited when a new Arbonne product pops up. And I will always be grateful that it was their product line that gave me the tools to get rid of my migraines and ease my menstrual woes.

I swapped to a protein breakfast with them all that time ago and now it seems there is more and more ‘chat’ about this and I’m enjoying the work on savoury breakfasts and dressing your carbs with fats and protein - and eating your veggies first.

Leading up to Christmas I wasn’t feeling as active so I reflected on my food consumption and exercise and tuned them up and refreshed myself. I still have GF and DF mostly, but the odd burger or take out happens.

But this year I need to make something happen - I need to build my house. So I need to be in the best frame of mind physically and mentally to do it. So the triathlon is in April, the veggies are increasing and the food that doesn’t serve me as well is getting less.

Below is scrambled eggs, spring onion, broccoli blanched then pan fried with a drizzle of olive oil, tomato and avocado with sliced beef. I’d already had my Fizz and Green Elixir. Coffee, of course, on the side 🙂.

So last weekend I was supposed to be running a 10km event in Napier. I was sick so decided to rest but gutted on the whole weekend - a girls weekend was much needed, but alas.

I saw my mate post a reel for the 445 running club. Sometimes affectionately known as ‘the crazies’ that get up at silly o’clock and compete over ‘ridiculous’ distances…. But you have to commend the discipline it takes to set an alarm for 4am, to run at 5am then do the day. And they don’t only run for self - they run for others. There were over 50 there this morning at 4.45am.

“Too tired” and “too busy” will frequently be heard, but I wanted to at least get amongst it to experience it. So today I did and far out - love the fact that you can control your brain to let your body do its thing. I totally over think my running/fitness. It’s epic knowing I can get it done before 6am.

I overheard a group of women chat on the return leg, ‘my body isn’t ready to run yet’ whilst her mates were cheering her on. It wasn’t my job to add anything, but I thought, wow, I think you’ve done the hardest thing getting up and out. Quiet your mind and let the body go. My biggest take away from events is the calibre and diversity of people that show up for themselves.

I was late opening today, so I won’t be a regular at 445, and I missed out on talking smack afterwards, so headed to work and yussss to my delicious long black this morning. Made by me. In my own cafe. ☕️

The morning started off dreary. That mood followed me in to the cafe as I kept mucking up the grind for the coffee.… I must have done about 10 shots to get it right. And then the scales were playing up.

I don’t want to serve bad coffee. I want every cup to be ‘bang on’. The consistency isn’t there and for 10 minutes I got grumpy with myself, before I made a cup of ‘ok’ coffee, sat down then started YouTubing on how to change the settings on my (Bluetooth?!!) scales.

And then I remembered a quote ‘you don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great’ by Zig Ziglar (Googled this).

But jeepers, it’s a long time coming in my mind!

So an afternoon dip in the River it was. Even that took me longer to get fully under, but the reason I do it is because it’s a powerful tool to keep your mind in check. 🙏. And it felt GREAT.

Sitting here, looking at my brainstorm of ideas about what do if…..
And now I’m living it and thinking about how to do the next bit. So many ideas and I just had to start. The fear is still there - within all aspects but I am just gonna keep nudging forward…. 🧡 ☕️

Well, it’s nearly that time for homeward bound.
✈️ 🌍

I’ve had a thought going around in my head of ‘was I trying too hard’ - to make this trip work. My cut off date for booking was the 14 November, then the 1st December….. then then then…. but I was so close to making it happen I just kept going.

But when I was at the top of the Summit in NYC with my mate, and a cocktail, I actually felt ridiculously calm. And so did she. It was epic and bizarre to feel that good.

Then when I finally got called Aunty Julesy in real life and sat on the streets of Edinburgh having a hot chocolate in the cold, I felt great again.

Then the smell of the Tube in London. And having a (very) long lunch with schoolmates and a view of Tower Bridge.

The family home and the sensational snow in Canada ….. breathtaking.

And now sitting here, in Vancouver with my delicious coffee and bacon and egg sandwich (Canadian bacon tops the scale for me, beating Blighty 😮) and of course I should be here. Of course I should have experienced it all.

In my meditations before I came away I had a strong sense of ‘it will be ok’ in relation to the money, the business, all of it.

A whole world of epic-ness. 😊

Wow oh wow.

I’m about to leave the UK and just thinking about this concept of ‘enjoy the unfolding’. The weeks leading up to the trip were a mix of emotions of doubt, excitement, apprehension, guilt, want, content at the knowingness and watching it all happen. It was nuts. I’d set a desire in motion and I kept going until it happened…. And now it’s in the past. I was conscious of this as it was happening and really doing my best to enjoy the whole journey because once it’s here it’s old news.

Then comes the next one.

This is why I will practice my meditation again with more focus and joy, because I don’t want to miss a thing. Whether it’s the next trip, the business launching, a new job, the next relationship or the next experience it’s all unfolding right now and that’s a sweet deal. 💙 NYC we loved you. See you soon 🇨🇦.

On the go essentials. I came away with a 10 pack of protein powder and a handful of fizz sticks. The idea being that I kept up a few daily habits whilst enjoying all the foods and drinks that I wanted to! I bought some extra probiotics to take daily aswell. I’ve kept the migraines away, my energy levels have been great considering I have been horribly jet lagged on my UK stint. I had one day of some sickness which I think felt more like a culmination of jet lag, dehydration (usually I drink waaaaaay more water) and my body’s limit of gluten and dairy…. And a couple of alcoholic bevvies. Anyway, recovery was quick and I was on the road again the following day.

Running - I’ve only been twice in 3 weeks. I miss it but also just gone with the flow of my days. Lots of walking obviously 🏃

Meditation - this is a surprise to me, I’ve gone significantly backwards in my ability to get my headspace right. On reflection, I’m stoked with the progress I had made before I came away and fascinated on how quickly it can disappear…. Like they say, it’s a muscle, you’ve got to train it and use it. So I’m looking forward to getting better at this on my next leg of travel. I’ve meditated probably 3 times a week since being away, but really noticed how my mind wanders. 🧘

No podcasts - I’ve got 2 lined up for the next bit of travel today and tomorrow. 🎧

Skincare - I am really pleased that my skin has held up well. Going from summer to winter I thought I would get dry skin all over, but I’m holding up well. I’ve got my key favourite items, but that’s where my protein powder and fizz sticks also benefit me with the amount of vitamins and minerals in.

Right, airport time 👏 ✈️ . Drink more water. 😜
