Hospice Mid-Northland

Hospice Mid-Northland Ph 09 407 7799. admin@hospicemn.org.nz Care and support to those facing a life-limiting illness and to their family/whanau.

Hospice Mid-Northland is an incorporated society registered under the Charities Act 2005 and is partly funded by the Government, with the remainder sourced from donations and fundraising. We cover the area from Towai in the south to Taupo Bay in the north, and coast-to-coast in between, including South Hokianga. In the earlier days, we supported small numbers of families and this has risen to over

220 families annually since 2018. We have four retail stores, please donate to us. Donations can be dropped at the Green Shed @ 464 Kerikeri Road or we can pick up furniture to sell in our Furniture Shop.

🎡 Hospice Carnival Postponed — New Date Confirmed

Our Hospice Mid-Northland Carnival, originally planned for April 11, has been postponed.

While the weather forecast has been changing day by day, the lead-up has been consistently wet, and with more rain still likely, the grounds are expected to be too saturated to safely host the event.

We’ve also taken into account the wider pressures on our community at the moment, including fuel costs and travel considerations, and want to make sure the day is accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

👉 New Date: Saturday, November 7

And the good news…

👉 We’re going BIGGER IN NOVEMBER!

This gives us the opportunity to bring the event back in better conditions, with more time to plan and make it an even stronger day for the community.

A huge thank you to our supporters, vendors, volunteers, and everyone who’s been behind this event so far — we truly appreciate it.

We can’t wait to see you all in November 💛

We’ve got a small number of mattresses available free to anyone in the community who may be in need.

These are older donated items and may not meet retail standards, but they’re clean and could still be useful as a temporary solution.

If you or someone you know could make use of one, feel free to come in and take a look.

Pick up only. First in, first served.

We’re creating something special for our community 💛

Hospice Mid-Northland is putting together a Recipe Collection Cookbook filled with recipes and stories from our patients, their whānau, our staff, volunteers, and the wider community.

We’re now looking for local businesses and supporters to help bring this project to life.

There are a few ways to get involved:
• Feature your business and share your story and a recipe
• Advertise in the cookbook
• Or simply support the project as a Friend of Hospice

This is all about community, connection, and supporting the care Hospice provides across our region.

If you’d like to be part of it, send us a message here or email:
📧 fundraising@hospicemn.org.nz
and we will send you more information

Please feel free to tag or share with anyone who might be interested.

Spotlight on Sponsors | Bruce Hunt

Some moments can’t be staged - they have to be captured as they happen.

A massive thank you to Bruce Hunt for giving his time to photograph our staff and volunteers, helping us tell the real story of Hospice Mid-Northland.

Bruce’s work captures something special - the people, the care, and the quiet moments that often go unseen.

He also joined us at our Charity Golf Tournament, documenting the day and the community behind it.

We truly appreciate your support, Bruce Hunt

$25,000 raised. One incredible day. One amazing community.

What a result from the 2026 ITM Hospice Golf Tournament.

A huge thank you to our major sponsor ITM, the Bay of Islands Golf Club, and Rotary for helping bring this event to life. This tournament simply wouldn’t happen without you.

To our sponsors — this one’s for you. Your support, generosity, and energy on the day made this event what it was.

A special shoutout to Nigel Wooding for the effort, time, and drive he put into making this event a success.

Congratulations to our winning team Pou Cha’s — Lara, Javier, Juvan, Anthony, Lolly, and Durrell.

And keep an eye on Javier — a rising local talent in Northland.

This is one of our key fundraising events each year, and thanks to all of you, we’ve raised $25,000 to support Hospice Mid-Northland and the care we provide in our community.

💛 A huge thank you to the team .kerikeri

Once again, they’ve supported Hospice Mid-Northland through their annual tyre promotion - and they’ve delivered another fantastic result.

This year, their campaign has raised an incredible $2,460 for Hospice.

That’s not a one-off.
It’s ongoing support from a local business that continues to back the work we do in our community.

We’d like to sincerely thank the Tyrepower team for their continued commitment to helping us provide free palliative care and support across Mid-Northland.

🚗 Need new tyres?

If you’re in the market, head in and see the team at Tyrepower Kerikeri.
Selected tyres in-store help generate donations to Hospice - so you’re supporting local care just by choosing where you shop.

A simple decision that makes a real difference.

💛 Have an idea to help raise funds for Hospice?

Our community has always been the heart of Hospice Mid-Northland.

We know there are people out there with great ideas — school groups, sports teams, iwi, clubs, workplaces, families and whānau — who might like to run a small event or activity to help support Hospice but aren’t quite sure where to start.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Whether it’s a:
• Sausage sizzle
• Quiz night
• Charity run or walk
• Community market stall
• Workplace challenge
• School fundraiser
• Or something completely different

Our team can help guide you with ideas, promotion, and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Every dollar raised helps Hospice Mid-Northland continue providing free palliative care and support to people and families across our community.

If you have an idea — big or small — please get in touch.

🍦 A Sweet Thank You to Local Legends

A huge thank you to Kerikeri Gelato for their incredible generosity to Hospice Mid-Northland.

They regularly donate their beautiful gelato for our patients. For many people receiving care, eating can become difficult, and something cold, smooth and comforting like gelato can be a perfect little treat. It brings smiles to faces and small moments of joy that truly matter.

We are so grateful for this quiet act of kindness.

And here is a little bit of exciting local news as well. If you have not tried it yet, you can now pick up Kerikeri Gelato locally at New World Kerikeri. Supporting local businesses that support our community is always a good idea.

From all of us at Hospice Mid-Northland, thank you for the kindness you show our patients and families. It means more than you know.

$25,000 raised for Hospice Mid-Northland!

The 15th Annual 2026 ITM Hospice Golf Tournament, powered by the Bay of Islands Golf Club and Rotary, was a massive success — raising $25,000 to support vital palliative care services in our community.

A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors, players, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the day such a success. Your generosity and community spirit help ensure Hospice Mid-Northland can continue providing compassionate care to those who need it most.

Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the businesses and individuals who stand beside Hospice and support the work we do.

We’ll be sharing a special highlight reel from the day soon, so keep an eye out!

From all of us at Hospice Mid-Northland — thank you for helping make a difference.
