AROA is pleased to announce the publication of a new retrospective pilot case series of Myriad Matrix™ and Myriad Morcells™ in the surgical management of contaminated volumetric soft tissue defects published on the front page of the ePlasty website.

“Ovine Forestomach Matrix in the Surgical Management of Complex Volumetric Soft Tissue Defects: A Retrospective Pilot Case Series”
Michael T Cormican, Nathan J Creel, Brandon A Bosque, Shane G Dowling, Phillip P Rideout, William M Vassy

The study evaluated the clinical effectiveness of ovine forestomach matrix from reviewed outcomes in patients who had undergone surgical reconstruction during the period January 2021 to February 2023 at a single facility using Myriad products as part of their surgical reconstruction of complex Volumetric Soft Tissue Defects. The study cohort were patients with at least one significant comorbidity, presented with significant soft tissue loss, often with exposed viscera, tendon, bone, or muscle. Across the ten patients included in the analysis, the average time to soft tissue coverage and fill was 9.2 days, with a median product application of 1.0. No complications were reported from the study cohort.
