6 WEEK PILATES FOUNDATION COURSE

New to Pilates? Or you have done it in the past but would like to refine your practice? In this 6 week course we will go through the principles of Pilates, move slowly and learn the basis to build your own practise. We will work on variations/modifications that suit your body best.

This course is for everyone. No experience or level needed.

Wednesdays 5.30pm
Starting 11 October

These sessions will be held in Bali Garden in Pt Wells.

Lots of fundraising initiatives are happening, which is so cool to see. The power of communities coming together is amazing 💕💕.
If you don’t know how to support those affected by the Cyclone…this one is for the families in Puketapu (Hawkes Bay). A friend of mine, who is involved in this sent it to me. It is really hard to comprehend what these families are going through.

This is the last week at .nz and as much as we all have loved being part of this “space” for the community, we are all looking forward to continue offering what we love doing with you all.

As we transition into our new beautiful venue , I’m gathering feedback on days/times, type of classes etc. to get a better understanding of what you are interested in.

I’m currently considering these options:
✨Foundation class: for those who haven’t done Pilates before or the ones who need some gentle movement, including some yummy stretches
✨Mixed level class, offering challenging options for anyone who wants to go a bit further
✨Power Pilates 45’, stronger sessions with more variations
✨Men’s classes, there is a small group running on Fridays 6.30am. And a Wednesday 5.30pm class will resume in the new studio
✨Private groups/“one on one’s”, if any of these options don’t work for you, I can work with smaller groups/ different locations

If you haven’t been to my classes before, my top priority is that you move safely and enjoy your walks, golf, surf, tennis, running, gardening-whatever you do, feeling strong, finding more freedom in the way you move and understanding your body better.

A new schedule will be shared with you all soon. Most class times and styles will remain the same to the current ones for an easier transition. However, there’s the opportunity for new options and we are all open to feedback. In my case, I would like to offer different levels as this might be appealing.

People ask me all the time about my buckwheat sprinkle. It was another favourite from my ALMA days….so here it goes 👇

1 cup buckwheat (activated or not, depending on your time!)
1/2 cup chopped almonds
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
2 tbsp fine shredded coconut
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon

Melt the coconut oil and add the cinnamon and maple syrup.
In a bowl, mix the oil and the rest of the ingredients coating them well.
Using a baking sheet spread all the mixture in an oven tray. Take to a low oven and cook until toasted.

Like any cereal, you can add any other nuts and spices. You can make a savoury one. You can add more sweetness to it using vanilla and/or maple syrup. Just play 💫💫 but anyway, this is my recipe!

Hola! It’s been a while…

I thought of sharing the recipe of one of ALMA’s favourites…MANGO CHIA POTS 🥭

You need
1 cup of frozen mango
1 cup of milk - I mix 1/2 coconut milk, 1/2 almond milk
1 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp chia seeds

Blend everything except the chia seeds. Then add the chia seeds and mix well. Cover and leave in the fridge overnight.

In the morning, top up with some crunchiness, freeze dried raspberries, toasted coconut flakes.

If chia seeds don’t agree with you, just have it as a mousse. It’s so delicious! Would you like me to share the buckwheat sprinkle recipe?

So cool to see how businesses are bringing more awareness around wellness for their employees.
Nourishing our bodies with wholesome food, movement and creating good habits can have a big impact on us and therefore, the people around us.

This group from a local business started the day with a yoga session, followed by a plant-based cooking workshop.
Ana and I love sharing our passions with people and help them to cultivate curiosity around movement and food.

We are loving this smoothie at home with all the things we all need at the moment 🍃🍃.

Blend👇
1 cup of frozen mango
1 large carrot
1 juicy orange
Approx 4cm turmeric root or 1 tsp of ground turmeric
3 cm ginger root or more if you like it!
1 cup of plant-based milk
Dash of black pepper

It’s quite a thick smoothie. You’ll need a good powerful blender! Black pepper helps with the absorption of turmeric.

Soaking up all the goodness from plants, always 💕🌱. Enjoy x
