Kia Ora whānau,

I just wanted to say a HUGE MIHI to all the sponsors who supported our Rangatahi to get to rainbows end. Out of 5 of our girls, 4 of them had never been. So, your belief in these young ladies meant a lot to us.

It was so cool watching them have heaps of fun after working super hard over their 30 day kaupapa whakaoho āe I Ngā mahi hauora.

Our goal was to achieve 80% of our challenge and they did that. This kaupapa wasn’t about Rainbows End. This kaupapa was about creating positive affirmations for our Rangatahi to thrive towards. We battled, I had to drag some of them in to course to make sure they attended at least 3 times, sometimes we hated each other. We even had to make the hard decision and cancel the initial trip after a bit of opsy. But, ko te kaupapa hirahira was to ensure our Rangatahi understood that there is more, and more is good.

Another special mihi is to our team at Te Puawaitanga o Ngati Hinerangi 🤍
Hinerangi, Roger, and Raegan, the gift of manaakitanga wouldn’t be here with you all.

To our Rangatahi, you better read this - we see you. We want the best for you. Let’s keep pushing 🔥

Our Tautoru whānau has finished our Kia Oho Programme with a neat hīkoi up Wairere.

Reflecting on all our learnings from the last few months and having some little fun giggles and laughs

These little warriors as well as the other three Rangatahi have done super well - term isn’t over yet. Off to 🌈 next week then back into the kaupapa again.

Kia Ora whānau,

This year I have been working with Puāwaitanga o Ngāti Hinerangi Iwi in the Alternative Education team, Tautoru 🤍 supporting our Rangatahi to become the best versions of themselves.

Our Tautoru Rangatahi are fundraising money to go to rainbows end.

We have a 4 week challenge the kids have to achieve in order to go to rainbows end. (Currently in week 3, I will post about week 1 and 2)

So far, we are looking at 100% pass rate 😍

Super proud already.

The ultimate goal is to support the kids in overcoming habits that need to be shifted in a positive way. These changes are super hard for them, which is why I we set these challenges and goals to achieve. The kids and I came up with these goals, some days are easy going and some days are really challenging.

Ngati Hinerangi vs Raungaiti Euchre Tournament ♠️

Awesome kaupapa we had today. Loved listening to the kōrero of our kaumātua reconnecting with their whānaunga.

Our kaumātua programme this morning. The kaumātua got to share with the Taku Wairua Rangatahi the process of preparing and running the Marae during a Tangihanga.

Kick start your day with some stretches.

Feeling a bit mamae (sore) from smashing your body all week?? Yep, same here. Take a rest and have a stretch 🙆🏽‍♀️

Try hold your stretches for 10-15secs each and always push a little further for the last 3-5secs to build up flexibility.

Trust me. You will notice the difference 🙌🏽

Ps. Don’t judge me and my socks 😆
