Pioneer in Bicol Airsoft Said date was the birth of Team NATO. The team plays in different types of terrain like urban, cqb and jungle.

It was in August of 2002 when a group of friends (Ace Yap, Eric Jan De Guzman, Raymond Concepcion, Mark Dominic Langit, Christopher Espera, Mac Edison Cheang, Andrew Jeremy De Guzman, Rex Anthony Reyes, and Amado Lazaro III) gathered together and talk about their objectives in life… their dreams not for themselves but for every Bicol Airsofter. The dream that came true to propagate the hobby and sport that will train individual in a fun filled activity, trained to be DISCIPLINED, to be HONEST, to be LOYAL, to be a future TEAM LEADERS and TEAM PLAYERS and create CAMARADERIE among every Bicol Airsofter. NATO as the first airsoft team throughout the Bicol Region was comprised of businessmen, medical practitioners, high government officials and some military officers and personnel and some students. Pioneering councils and members of NATO share the same idea, passion and decision on positive objectives… “There Should be No One Man Above The TEAM”. Like a true military, the team underwent a vigorous training by local and worlds known Special and Elite Forces, mixed martial arts, jujitsu, and Japanese known traditional martial arts “Ki Aikido”. Members are also trained mentally, during training period the council evaluates if an individual could fit the team. Any results that failed are those who cannot work as part of a team (the unit) and comply with the routine tasks of basic training, therefore, it is more likely to place him/herself, comrades, and the mission in jeopardy. Every member is required to abide by the NATO rules and standards. Safety gears, good quality aeg’s, marpat and tan contractor bdu (or uniforms) are some of the required standards. The team currently has more than 90 members consisting of different squads and affiliates. Team NATO held responsible for the first airsoft local and national competition in the Bicol region, and continue to initiate events not only for the benefit of Bicol Airsofters but events that also contribute social responsibilities that somehow encouraged members and non-members to partially submerge their individuality for the good of mankind that’s one of the reason why NATO is the only team being acknowledged and accredited by the City of Naga and the Province of Camarines Sur.
