LINK IN BIO!! LINK IN BIO Y’ALL! My favorite partner in quarantine and I created this Metta Meditation almost a year ago... I wanted to share if anyone has about 30 minutes to relax and unwind in some love feels!
“Metta” means kindness, compassion, the quality/idea of well-meaning, friendliness. This form of meditation can transform your lense and shift your state. When you’re absorbed in the work that you love?
When you’re talking with someone whose company you thoroughly enjoy in openness and intimacy?
What feelings arise?
I like to think of these as SOUL feelings.
Now...
What kinds of feelings arise when you win an argument?
When you win a race?
When you become popular?
When everyone is applauding you?
I like to think of these feelings as WORLDLY feelings.
Is it worth gaining the world and losing your soul?
Are you feeding yourself on popularity, praise, appreciation, “I’m fine, you’re fine.” look at me, value me, being the boss, having power, winning the race.
Feed yourself on more nourishing material and light that beautiful soul on fire!

A man found an eagle’s egg and put it in a nest of a barnyard hen.
The eaglet hatched with the brood of chicks and grew up with them.
All his life the eagle did what the barnyard chicks did, thinking
he was a barnyard chicken. He scratched the earth for worms and
insects. He clucked and cackled. And he would thrash his wings and fly
a few feet into the air.
Years passed and the eagle grew very old. One day he saw a
magnificent bird above him in the cloudless sky. It glided in graceful
majesty among the powerful wind currents, with scarcely a beat of its
strong golden wings.

Seneca was a stoic philosopher that I enjoy because of his ability to navigate money, power, and humanitarianism. Stoicism was one of the first philosophies to really resonate with me! It’s a practical, logical framework for navigating the human experience.
A MAJOR KEY of stoicism is to find clarity on the things in life that you have control over and the things in life you do not.

To make life simple-to have a “good” life... only focus on what you can control and accept whatever else life provides as it comes.

How EMPOWERING it is to cultivate such clarity! Less of life happening to you and more of life happening for you!

I love the connection of breath and movement! As an athlete, this was the most comfortable style of meditation for me in the beginning! It was nice for me to put my mind to an action and then allow for the sensation of relaxing to happen on its own!

TO ATHLETES: Synchronizing breath and movement is SO IMPORTANT! It ensures an even release in fascia for a more balanced body!! Move slowly and feel the breath flow through each movement. Bring awareness to ALL movements (can be sport related movements as well)!

This practice is one of my favorites for relaxation! I use it most often when I am having trouble falling asleep, feeling the sensation of anger at something/someone, or when I'm doing tasks that need some patience! It is also such a great practice for seeing where there may be tightness/tension stored in your breathing process!
I love me some conscious breathing!!!!
