What was it again?

Myofascial release is a powerful technique that stimulates mechanoreceptors in the fascia (connective tissue) releasing restrictions and hereby enhancing the physiological and anatomical function in the body. This massage therapy technique is very effective at addressing pain, improving range of movement and addressing postural/structural dysfunction. In turn, the body's glide ability and energy flow is restored.

On the left of my business card (see photo😁) is a structure that represents tensegrity.

Tensegrity is the property of materials made strong by the unison of tensioned and compressed parts.

Biological structures such as muscles, bones, fascia, ligaments and tendons, or rigid and elastic cell membranes, are made strong by this unison of tensioned and compressed parts.

So what's fascia?

Fascia is the soft tissue component of the connective tissue system. It interpenetrates and surrounds muscles, bones, organs, nerves, blood vessels, and other structures.
Fascia is an uninterrupted, 3 dimensional web of tissue that extends from head to toe, from front to back, from interior to exterior. It is responsible for maintaining structural integrity; for providing support and protection and acts as a shock absorber. Fascia has an essential role in haemodynamic and biochemical processes, and provides the matrix that allows for intercellular communication.
After injury, it is the fascia that creates an environment for tissue repair. Fascia can refer to dense planar fascial sheets as well as joint capsules, organ capsules,muscular separation, ligaments, retinacula, aponeuroses, tendons, myofascia, neurofascia, and other fibrous collagenous tissues. -- David Lesondak
