The dead bug is one of the best moves for building a strong, stable core - and the best part? It’s super easy to progress as you get stronger!

Start with the Standard Dead Bug to master core control, then gradually move through variations like Swiss Ball, and Banded Anti-Rotation.
If standard Dead bug feels too much to begin with try the Heel Tap Dead Bug on slide 3 first!

Each step adds a new challenge, helping you build strength, stability, and control safely.

Coaching tip: Focus on quality over quantity. Keep your lower back pressed into the floor, move with control, and only progress when you’re ready.

Having grown up immersed in sport and walked her own journey through injury and rehab, Laura understands firsthand the physical and mental challenges that come with setbacks. She doesn’t just coach - she listens, encourages, and celebrates every step forward, no matter how big or small.

Laura works closely with each person, offering the guidance and support they need to build strength, improve mobility, and feel confident in their bodies. Our last Women's Health and Fitness Course was all about building confidence, knowledge, and strength in the gym. We loved seeing women challenge themselves, lift more than they thought possible, and walk away feeling empowered!

The enthusiasm and supportive push from the coach kept me motivated, and I really appreciated the small touches that made the experience personal. Meet Kate 👋
She has a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise from Massey Uni, specialising in Exercise Prescription and Training – yet her skills go way beyond the books.

From cooking up a storm in the kitchen, helping kids learn to swim and coaching netball, to working with people living with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and Parkinson’s, Kate’s been there, done that and loved every minute of it! She’s even served in the military, keeping soldiers fit and building team spirit through adventure and resilience training.

Kate is especially passionate about women’s health, empowering women of all ages to build strength, confidence, and a life they love.

Now at Align, Kate’s all about helping you find your unique path to physical and mental wellness. As she says, “Where there’s a will for fitness, there’s a way – and I’ll help you find yours.” 😀
