I’ve been looking back through some patterns lately and the Mini Love Bomber always makes me smile. It’s such a chunky, comforting knit for little ones … soft and squishy with that simple heart motif on the back. There’s something so lovely about a pattern that stays a favorite through the years. 🧶✨

Just a little update from my kitchen bench. I’ve been playing with skincare recipes for myself lately, including some lip balm … just lanolin, beeswax and a splash of infused Kawakawa (a NZ native plant which helps with healing).
It’s nothing fancy, but the lanolin feels very fitting as a knitter✨ A touch of self-care in a jar 🥰

Linear socks are a timeless pattern! I love the unisex design and those clean lines. They’re just so understated. It’s nice to have something on the needles that doesn’t demand too much, but still feels so intentional. Just a bit of slow, steady progress each day ☀️

Currently on my needles: this Eden 8ply (Polwarth) yarn by 💕
It’s as soft as merino and is 💯 NZ made 🎉 The squish factor is delish and I can’t wait to start wearing it. But first, I’ll rework the sleeves ‘cause I want them to be perfect for you. Watch this space!

The is so cute for mixing colours. I’ve always love this copper shade but personally, it doesn’t suit my colouring (although it’s fab on my “model”). So I placed the copper tone on the cuff and paired it with other colours I can wear. Pretty happy with the result!

My daughter has taken up crochet and I’m so happy! Now we talk about yarn, design inspo and share our makes with excited little sparkles in our eyes ✨
It’s the cutest thing ever 💕 We even spent half an hour sitting on the floor of a craft store looking at buttons together. I can ride that high for the rest of the week 😻
Oh, the simple things. They make life feel so rich!

Knitting Patterns

Purl Foundry started when I couldn’t find 100% woollen knitwear in retail stores. All the sweaters were acrylic which doesn’t keep you warm and doesn’t last well. The only solution was to knit something! But it had to look as good as the retail ones.

This continues to be my driving force with every design. Value is placed on wearability, longevity and simplicity.

I’ve also got a real soft spot for beginner knitters, so I’m always looking for ways to help. That’s why each pattern has links to video tutorials and I’ve introduced “layered sizing”, which means each size within the pattern can be hidden from view, or made visible again with the click of a button. No more trying to remember which size you’re making or hunting for it amongst the numbers and brackets. So you can stay in your creative flow for longer.
