This is a 14min class suitable for any time of day, before you hop of your bed in the morning, at your desk at work, even if you wake up and can't sleep in the middle of the night. You simply need to be seated with your feet flat on the floor, that's it! I love this class, I do it any time pain or tense muscles/joints are messing with me.

Part of Tension Release Series Level 1 so is FREE for anyone to access. Suitable for those suffering with a sore or tired body including delayed onset muscle soreness, chronic health conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Long Covid, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Orthostatic Intolerance, MS, Back Pain, Migraine or Headaches, Anxiety and Depression, the list goes on๐Ÿคฉ.

EXERCISE, we all need something different. Personally, I've faced some tough lessons on exercise in the last few years, I've consciously exercised for health my whole adult life, but I'd failed to recognize that I'd lost perspective, I'd pushed too hard for too long. This podcast episode from Reverse Reset Restore offers some great perspective on what exercise should be.... no matter what your current relationship with exercise is๐Ÿ‘.

It's Day 6 of our 31 Days of Self Care Program and today is all about getting in some physical activity. Itโ€™s time to Move Your Body! I'm not going to ask you to do a specific workout, but I am going to encourage you to choose something you love t...

This is another class that has served me so well when I've really needed it. Part of Level 1 of the Tension Release Series (available without subscription) it has similar yet different movements to 1A, variety is really important to releasing tension, tension is complex so one sequence of movements alone day after day will not cut it. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (along with many other health conditions) can commonly cause tendon pain, it is really important not to overstretch when suffering with this type of tendon inflammation, it makes it worse. This class is mindful of that ๐Ÿ˜Š, but it's really important that the practitioner remembers that to, never stretch too far for you. This is another class of only supine and seated postures so suitable for anyone that does not want to be standing and great for relieving some pain and/or stress before going to bed.

22 minutes of dynamic movements and both passive and active stretching. This gives the body the opportunity to mobilise, improves blood flow to the muscles, releasing tension while still allowing your body to start to rebuild damaged or fatigued structures. Beginning breath development that will ...

This class has got me through some tough times, it's only 23 minutes and designed to suit a sore body. Many of us hold tension in our spine and this spreads to our joints from there. Neck, shoulders, spine, hips, pelvis. This type of class is really helpful before bed. This class is all supine or seated, no standing posture so is suitable for ME CFS in particular those that suffer POTS or orthostatic intolerance, put more simply if you find standing makes you dizzy..... so will also be suitable for someone with Vertigo ๐Ÿฅด.

No subscription required for this class, enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‰.

I've been rather quiet on the social media front for some time. Although I try to hide it, dealing with ME/CFS is not easy, even a mild case, social media is what I chose to cut from my time, sadly my social life has taken a hit as well, thankfully I now feel like I'm heading back out of the spiral ๐Ÿ˜‰. Yoga Time Warrior has been an invaluable tool for managing it, I've been able to make yoga work for me at a time where I've lost my ability to exercise like I used to, you'll see more online yoga classes suitable for ME/CFS from me, with a selection of these available at no charge. I've also spent much time coming to terms with ME/CFS, like you'll find with many sufferers. Because everyone's case is unique, they have to get proactive solving their own problems.

This post provides a link to my free informational page on ME/CFS otherwise known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome along with many other names as well. It is also essentially what Long Covid is. Understanding these types of conditions from the perspective of a sufferer can be an invaluable tool to someone trying to find a diagnosis That is the purpose of this page, to help others out there find some perspective with a condition that has historically been so hard to get a diagnosis on.

We have postures for every directional movement of the spine so we strengthen, stretch and improve overall mobility from every angle, working into the deep stabilizing spinal muscles, it is the core focus of our practice. This is both a preventative of future injury and long term relief of current back pain. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘

The Chest To Abdomen Breathing technique is used throughout our movements in our yoga practice. It is an essential foundation to developing strength, stability and mobility in the spine, all absolute essentials to a pain free back. Gaining long term relief from back pain is not just about stretching, this is a common misconception because stretches generally ease the pain.... but pain is just a symptom, not the actual problem. To solve the problem we need to retrain and strengthen the spine.

In my many years lifting weights I never achieved this, my guess is because with weight your brain/body connection is too busy focusing on the larger muscles groups to lift the weight, whereas the type of movements we perform in our yoga practice are very focused on the spine and its connective structures, while using our Chest to Abdomen Breathing to support the movement. I'm going to acknowledge here, that is my personal opinion due to my own experiences with weights, despite being strong, fit and using good technique, I never managed to get past the back pain until I found the yoga style I practice today. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง

Many of us don't realize we have a poor phycological relationship with exercise. We shouldn't use it to make up for bad health or lifestyle choices, if we do we're simply creating a negative relationship with exercise. If you make a not so great choice, like eating a chocolate bar, forget about it and move on, make a better choice next time, eat an apple instead, pushing yourself extra hard at the gym will only seem like you made up for it, burning off the calories is a myth. Choosing to exercise the day after a few too many drinks, now that one I always found was a good one, it seemed to work the toxins through the body faster & encourage getting fresh fluids in the body to relieve dehydration.... could be another myth? ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Such a classic yoga mistake is thinking that it's all about really pushing your stretches. There is so much more to it than that, understanding that you are contracting and strengthening muscles at the same time as stretching opposing muscles is so important. Not to mention that we are always working to develop our spine, so often, if we are trying too hard to stretch something we may have also lost focus on stabilizing our deep spinal muscles as well ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜ฎ.

Not only can meditation help prevent and/or relieve emotional stress, it can help reduce the effect of stress on the body by calming the nervous system. Some people find meditating really hard. Breathing techniques can be a great way to learn to meditate. Focusing the mind on the technique, helps stop your mind from wandering while also slowing it down. There are loads of different meditation and breathing techniques. Remember, it is a skill, just like most things you can't expect to be perfect from the outset. Yoga is also a great way to move towards meditation, with the right practice you can learn to move slowly, calmly and with focus, over time meditation doesn't seem so daunting anymore ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿฅฐ

Often the biggest challenge with any exercise program is to get past the early stages, where you aren't quite seeing the benefits yet. Yoga is so different from other forms of exercise, it can take a bit to get used to, learning to understand your body's signals. Knowing when to push and when to ease back, it is so worth it when you get it right. I practiced the other day, I wasn't feeling the greatest, I felt so good when I was done, it felt like I'd had a full body massage. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿคฉ.

Exercise does not have to be scary, it can be whatever you want it to be. Pushing too hard is generally where we go wrong. Although plenty will take it easy and not see results after a week and give up because they think it's not doing anything, it is! Fast results are the minority, some people are lucky enough to achieve them, but that is not most people.

The reason I love yoga so much is because if you practice correctly you can achieve real and dramatic results, but I'm not going to lie, you should still move in other ways, it just doesn't have to be full on. Don't get me wrong I do at least 4 strong yoga sessions a week, they're slow & steady, they work up a sweat, but still leave me feeling like I've had a full body massage at the end. Add in only a couple of 2km walks with the kids a week and I feel great, no more back pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, neck pain...., I feel stronger than ever and my weight is stable. It is 100% possible and so liberating ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฅฐ.

Even before my health deteriorated, I tried to find a yoga practice to build real strength as well as improving flexibility & balance. I tried many platforms, none of them laid out a clear path as to how to actually achieve that, it was either real beginner or too advanced. I had to hit rock bottom and then get educated to find my own way there, there's no looking back now. You don't have to hit rock bottom to. Yoga does it differently than other forms of exercise, because movements are slow they work deep into the stabilizing muscles in the body improving the health of the joints,.,, along with everything else. This is my latest blog post. I know there will be people out there that will be dead set against the notion that there is a dark side to exercise, but this is my true story and there's something to be learned for both sides of the fence here. I'll say no more because the article says it all ๐Ÿคจ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ช

Exercise can be unhealthy for you, seriously? Whatever! As someone who's been a dedicated exerciser their whole adult life, I would have scoffed at you if you told me this 5 years ago. That was before my health deterior...

Setting up an online yoga platform in an industry with massive budgets & big teams really was a crazy idea on my part, but here I am still. Evey time I do market research it reinforces why I'm here. Yoga is supposed to be for everyone, but so many of us find it's designed for the people that are already really good at yoga and has forgotten all about the people that really need it. Yoga Time Warrior is a yoga practice that really works for the people that need it, those that have no idea what they're doing, those that are too intimidated to go to a studio, for those that find it hard to slow down, for those that need to let their body lead the way, to work with it rather than against it. That's how we relieve pain & tension, improve mobility, improve health, relieve stress & that's how we build that strong body that can handle what we throw at it, whatever that may be.

The thing is, although I started this when I was broken, I know it's strong enough that it would have suited me when I was super fit, I wouldn't have ended up in the same hole I created by pushing too hard when I needed to stop. That's the benefit of hindsight.... maybe others can benefit from my hindsight. ๐Ÿคจ I'm here, and I'm happy to answer questions ๐Ÿ˜

Our modern exercise mindset leads many to see exercise as a painful experience which is outside our comfort zone, so it requires an immense amount of motivation to engage in it. When we finally do, it leaves us tired, sore and.... well.... stressed. This is not what yoga is supposed to be, although if we have expectations of fast results and push ourselves with our modern exercise mindset, that is what it becomes, and so is likely to be a failure. Yoga is working inside your comfort zone and then slowly widening it. It took me 20 years of being an exercise fanatic to see the value in this ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ˜‰.

I know getting motivated can be hard, especially if you're considering a home based option. Use aches and pains as a motivator, because yoga will help, I proved it to myself even though I was a doubter, I will never look back now. Exercising at home is amazing, it can be whenever you want it to be, you can pick any place in your house, there is no one to judge you or pick on your mistakes (family members don't count because they love you anyway๐Ÿ˜), with no intimidating studio or gym environment. Practice for yourself and no one else, practice to feel good, not to look good and soon enough that glow will shine through on the outside... I know that's cheesy but it's true ๐Ÿ˜‡.

Give Yoga Time Warrior a go, the only regret will be not doing it sooner ๐ŸŒˆโšก๏ธ๐ŸŒŸ
