Rainbowls & Reiki Joey is a full time mum to 3 beautiful children, who are the catalyst to her embarking on her spiritual meditation journey within.

Hi I'm Joey, a Sound Alchemist based in Koru, Taranaki, specialise in Multi-instrument sound journeys & Shamanic Sound Ceremonies, Frame Drum Circles, Native American Flute Masterclasses, and Sacred Women Red Tent Circles. She offers intuitive energy and sound healing therapy sessions for 1:1 private therapy, private group sound sessions, and public group sound sessions on Full Moon and New Moon c

ircles. She is a certified Himalayan Singing Bowls and Tuning Forks practitioner. She integrates her knowledge from different healing modalities to offer a unique experience in her Shamanic Sound Ceremonies, using multi-instruments for a shamanic soundscape to journey within. She is passionate about all things sound healing, and loves sharing sound healing practices and meditations to help others learn to live more mindfully, in order to cope with the daily life stressors, finding inner peace and purpose. She holds monthly Goddess Frame Drum Circles to empower women and men through rhythm and voice. She also teaches 1:1 classes for Native American Flutes and Frame Drumming. She holds New Moon Red Tent Circles every quarterly.

This is my story.

At mid life, you come to a point of contemplation of remembering who you were, where you’ve been, what you’ve done, and how far you’ve come. Everything made you who you become.

There has been failures in my life. Regrets even. But, there is also growth. So much growth and healing that I can honestly say I am so proud of myself now.

My turning point was 2018, when I hit rock bottom in mothering. I did not know how hard it was. I survived working in Chinese Drama in MediaCorp, going on overnight shoots and rocked it. I thought I could rock Motherhood too. It shook me up instead. By divine intervention, I found a retreat, which woke me up from the martyrdom of mothering to remember myself, and to find me again.

This is me now. Living and breathing sounds in my life. Living my manifested dream life (even though lifestyle in rural is also quite brutal at times) I am still grateful that I did not end my life.

How my growth will inspire you in yours, that’s what I hope to find out. Sound healing has been my lifeline. It could be yours too.

Did you know there are 2 Full Moons in the month of May? The 2nd Full Moon in a month is the Blue Full Moon in Sagittarius ♐️ and we have a special Blue Moon Gong Dance Journey on 30 May! This is a special outdoor fire pit Gong Journey where you’ll forgive and release into the fire under the Blue Moon and mingle with some animals. This is part 1 of the Moonology series. A spark lives
Deep within
A flicker of light
Shining
Buried underneath
Years of conditioning
Dig deep into the abyss
Excavating rules and lies
Fed by surroundings
A mantra awakens
Shedding layers
A chant
Opens the heart
A vibration
To ignite

Shadows lurking in the dark
I do not fear
These are my shadows
I must face
A part of me being a human race
Fear
Anger
Anxiety
Worries
If I ever am enough
Worthy enough of my drifting dreams

Let go
Let be
Inscriptions on my bangle
A gentle reminder
What is there to let go?
Everything that was not meant to be
What is there to let be?
Everything that was meant to be
Nothing in life is within our control
Except for our own emotions
But even our emotions
Can be led astray
Energy in motions

Day 18 ~ Breath of Evolution
That day I found my breath
I forgot I was not breathing
For so many years
I was holding on
Unsure when I could take an inhale
Just holding it together
Not for my sake but my children
No one told me it’s OK to rest
I held my breath nursing my newborn to sleep
Bouncing gently on the gym ball
All night long
His mouth on my ni***es I no longer feel
My head nodding of sleep deprivation
I felt all alone
With no support from anyone
Fear of being a bad mother
Kept me pushing on
To the brink of desolation
Almost breaking point
Martyrdom was what it was
Never knew what it meant
Until I realise that was it
So I start to breathe again

Day 17 ~ Wild Whistles

There is a sound in the wild
Only some can hear
It is a call of the wild
A call of remembrance
A wailing howl
A thundering roar
A raspy hoot
A groaning moan
Sounds only some can hear
Those with a heart
Once wounded with scars
But continues to hold
The hope of love
To hold her voice
With tender gentleness
Even when the world responds
With complete harshness
This is the call of the wild whistles
Calling out to those who hears
To come home to her wilderness
