OPS Plumbing & Pipeline is looking for a capable Project Engineer / Project Manager to support and deliver a range of civil construction projects across 3 Waters and roading in Taranaki.

This role is hands-on and suits someone who likes being close to site — coordinating crews and subcontractors, tracking progress, managing reporting, supporting contract admin, and helping drive safe, efficient project delivery from start to finish.

✅ 2+ years NZ civil experience
✅ 3 Waters and/or roading background (consultant, client-side, or contractor)
✅ Strong reporting + coordination skills
✅ AutoCAD + MS Office (MS Project a bonus)

OPS is looking for an experienced TMP Planner / TMP Designer to join our team in New Plymouth / Taranaki.

This is an established in-house role supporting a busy pipeline of civil work. You’ll be producing practical, compliant TMPs, managing RCA submissions/approvals, and working closely with our project and site teams to keep worksites safe and jobs moving.

We recently held our second awards event of the year, recognising milestones across our team, including Infrastructure Works Level 2 completions, drainlaying registrations, and Level 3–4 water qualifications.

It was a privilege to host representatives from Manukorihi Hapū Charitable Trust, MSD, Vertical Horizon, and Connexis. Our Infrastructure Works Level 2 programme is delivered in partnership with Manukorihi Hapū Charitable Trust, MSD, and Vertical Horizon — together we’re removing barriers to entry and combining community support, and on-the-job training to create real pathways into civil infrastructure.

Events like this help us acknowledge the hard work behind these achievements and celebrate as a team.

Kia ora — the OPS crew attended the MATES in Construction BBQ at Hirepool this morning. Big thanks to Hirepool, CCNZ, and Professional Excavation for sponsoring the coffee. Great to connect with others in the civil industry.

MATES do vital work in su***de prevention across our sector. We had 20+ of our team there today learning how to look out for each other.

On a personal note: earlier in my career I worked on the Ichthys project in Darwin (not with OPS). The wider project had tragic losses to su***de over the years — a reminder of why taking time for events like this is important.

🚧 Concrete Pad Upgrade Underway – Eltham 🚧

This week we kicked off work on a new heavy-duty concrete slab at the Fonterra truck exit on Collingwood Street, Eltham.

The 160m² pad is being constructed in two halves to keep the site operational, using 200mm thick 45MPa concrete over compacted AP65, with SE92 mesh, fibre reinforcement, and geogrid for ground stability.

Our team is managing this live site carefully, keeping one direction of traffic open at all times while delivering a durable, high-spec finish designed to handle ongoing heavy vehicle use.

Thanks to South Taranaki District Council for the collaboration 👷‍♂️

Earlier this year, our team at OPS Plumbing & Pipeline completed a stormwater upgrade at Lepperton School to fix flooding around the playground — and we were stoked to be part of a project that made a real difference for local tamariki.

On top of that, we also funded and sealed the school’s pump track, working alongside our sister company Avenue Roading to get it done right.

Now one of the students, Savarna, is doing her bit to give back — taking part in the school’s 2025 Fun Run to help raise money for new playground gear and technology equipment.

We recently completed a drainage job for a local property that needed a trench dug and pipe laid — and we’re stoked with how tidy the finish came out 👌

Day 2 Highlights – and the Night’s Not Over Yet! 💼🎤🪩

It’s been a massive Day 2 at the 2025 Civil Contractors Conference for the OPS Plumbing & Pipeline crew!

We had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Chris Luxon, always good to continue the conversation around the future of infrastructure and the role contractors play in building resilient communities.

Now the real fun’s kicking off — the team is fully in the spirit of the themed dinner and party night! From psychedelic prints to angels, aliens, and captains on deck — we’ve gone all-in, and the vibes are unreal. 🎭🛸✈️🕺

The night’s still young, so we’ll keep the stories rolling… but safe to say, this team knows how to put in the mahi and enjoy the moment.
